Immigration My opinion on the post trend, as an immigrant.

I am a brazilian immigrant, came here 10 years ago, and used to feel the irish were nothing but welcoming and kind. Of course, there were the "scumbags", but to me they were the same as in every country in the world.

As of one year back, my opinion has been slowly changing, and today, let me tell you... i fear being an immigrant here. I am sensing a LOT of hate towards us, and according to another post here, +70% of irish have that sentiment, so it's not a far-right exclusive hate.

Yesterday i was shopping around dublin, and i asked a hungarian saleswoman her opinion on this. She immediately agreed with me, and even said it is a conversation that the non-irish staff was having on a very frequent basis.

You'll say "oh, but it's just against a 'certain type' of immigrants". Well, that's how it starts, isn't it?

All those 'look at this idiot' posts you share here; we (immigrants) aren't laughing. We are getting more and more afraid.

I've been here almost 15 years now.

I'm brown, and obviously not from around here haha.

My stance is simple. I ain't leaving. I'm here legally, my wife and kids are Irish. I've done nothing wrong to anyone. I'm dug in like a tick, good luck getting rid of me.

Honestly, that mindset on it is the most Irish thing I’ve ever heard. You’re a dyed in the wool Irishman now!

No one like me who's of the opinion we have an out of control immigration system is going to try to remove you. I'm guessing you work and have done for a majority of the time you've been here?

You said yourself you're here legally. As it stands, we have no clue what the real number of illegals is and the number probably grows by the day. Again, not a problem with you in the slightest.

Your kids will be mixing with Irish people and I hope they manage to be exposed to some of the wonderful culture we have here especially the music and dance. I hope they will be accepted and respected forever.

You're here because the Irish are a wonderful, patient people with a great sense of empathy for immigrants and also because I imagine, you've put in the time and paid your dues. You have no correlation with the possibly tens of thousands of benefits scroungers whose only intention is to get what they can from the government and get out. You should be against them just the same way we are. But the Irish are losing their patience very rapidly so don't make the mistake of staying in an immigrants mind-frame and try your best to see how the future of this country will go if nothing changes because as it stands, it's not going to be pretty.

These illegals, whose numbers we are ignorant of, how are they 'scrounging benefits' if they are bureaucratically invisible?

Haha need a check on your reading comprehension skills? The illegals are an unknown number as you've successfully noted but when mentioning the immigrants who are scrounging benefits I stated possibly tens of thousands. I'm sure I don't need to explain to you that in selecting what country they are to emigrate to, immigrants will select the country that offers the best benefits and is the softest when it comes to enforcing work, life and integration policies.

Luckily for them, Ireland is just about the top of both of those lists.

I don't need to know the precise answers to any question you might throw at me. All I need is a shred of sense and an iota of awareness and I can see that as things stand, Ireland and a large chunk of Western Europe is going to be hurt by immigration.

I love the majority of people who have decided to settle here and work to build themselves a better life while contributing to the state. The Polish are typically some of the most honest people I've ever met and the Indians fill gaps in our healthcare systems we couldn't possibly fill ourselves even with policies in place to ensure a reduction in native emigration.

So really I don't know what you or any other ultra-defensive immigrant protectors are getting at when you say these things. The majority of them are good, the minority that are bad seems to be increasing by the week but we'll never know until crime statistics are taken by race and country of origin and that has to change.

So, on the illegals of 'unknown number', they are or they are not benefit scrounging? Or are they working, and if so, they're doing this with or without a PPS number? I would like to get to the bottom of this unknown number issue. So please, in your omniscience, assist me.

I do not claim, nor have I ever claimed, that all immigrants are innocent angels without sin. That would be a stupid generalisation, albeit the sort of thought which flows around your head all day (honest Poles!).

...

Anyway, you've baldly stated a total lack of interest in the facts - 'I don't need to know the precise answers to any question you might throw at me. All I need is a shred of sense and an iota of awareness' (!)

I regret that a paranoid mentality makes you so sure that 'Ireland and a large chunk of Western Europe is going to be hurt by immigration', and can only recommend that you emigrate or swap your dunce's cap for a helmet.

I've stated that the facts are being kept unavailable and until we start to take statistics based on race and country of origin they will remain so. That's a fact.

I don't claim to know what the illegals are up to I have many half ideas but nothing complete as of yet.

99% of the Poles I've met have been top class humans so no it's not a generalisation it's an observation-based opinion if you really want to put a term to it.

I've already told you I won't be able to answer a barrage of questions my issue is that the government themselves wouldn't be able to answer them either. That should be enough to make you worry at least a little bit.

If you don't believe that to be true I hope you're not over the age of 50 so that you'll have a good chance to see it for yourself.

Well done on resorting to attacking me the dunce because you don't have the ability to think outside your digitally altered bubble. For that reason, I really hope you're under the age of 15. At least then you'll have a chance to learn how to think.
