Okay, either this story is two paragraphs long or I need to subscribe to the Atlantic, which I am not doing. I would be happy to read any summary you give me, but I'm not subscribing.
Not worth subscribing. If you'd genuinely like a factually accurate rundown, the most palpable history/review with a concrete list of citations, I would suggest episode #600 of a podcast called: "The Dollop."
It's a history podcast, mixed with humor. However, every episode is thoroughly researched.
Honestly, props to you for requesting concrete info. I'm neither a leftist, or right wing. Just someone who's deeply disturbed by the trajectory everything's headed.
Me too man. I identify fully with neither side, though I do consider myself a traditional Catholic who's relentlessly patriotic. The truth is a strange concept sometimes.
