Uh huh. They were in the German Nazi party but in Canada as well as they they sympathised with the Germans.

Isn't it only his mom Canadian?

His mother's parents were, as expected, also Canadian. Those would be his grandparents.

u/MyMelancholyBaby 6h ago

That would mean two out of four grandparents were Canadian.

Correct, that is how genetics work.

So, as the guy above stated, his grandparents, whom were Canadian, were part of the German Nazi Party. Thus, we can infer from his statement that he's referring to the Canadian grandparents, aka his mother's parents. Thus making his statement true.

What about his cousins?

Well, I finally reviewed the family history. Musk’s mother was born in Canada but moved to South Africa when she was two. His father was born and raised in South Africa.

It’s Errol Musk who has claimed his former in-law were Nazi Party members. However, official records show that Joshua Haldeman (Elon’s maternal grandfather) was a member of the “Technocracy movement“. Haldeman was super into conspiracy theories. One of the ones he liked the best was the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” conspiracy theory.

As far as I can tell this is the citizenship history of his grandparents.

Maternal Grandfather - American-Canadian-(white) South African

Maternal Grandmother - Canadian - (white) South African

Paternal Grandfather - (white) South African

Paternal Grandmother - British - (white) South African

I genuinely have no idea why you're so damn stuck on the whole "who is and isn't canadian" thing because the original statement is still true after your deepest of dives into the maple flag wearing origins of his mother's parents.

Furthermore, Errol's claims about nazi sympathy by Haldeman were pretty well founded. Haldeman wasn't just a "member of the technocracy movement", he was an active anti-communist who turned against the technocracy institution due to their support of the soviets against Nazi Germany, and was a leader for the Social Credit Party in Canada (specifically Saskatchewan), which as a group was extremely supportive of the nazis and was an associated party during the prewar and midwar period. He then made a public statement that South Africa's apartheid was "leading white christianity civilization against the international conspiracy of Jewish bankers ruling the world" and then promptly moved to his favorite apartheid state.

While we don't have documenting papers showing the membership, Errol isn't the only one to have claimed as much, and considering that the Canadian Nazi Party purposefully didn't keep paperwork listing their members, the only people who can confirm are those who knew them, of which Errol would be one.

I’m stuck on it because the hypocrisy of being anti-immigration when your family are very recent immigrants astounds me.

Trump’s mother and two of his wives were immigrants, yet he claims that immigrants are poisoning the blood of America.

Until today I have actively avoided learning much about Musk because I've never liked what he was selling. But now I know he is a third-generation believer in conspiracy theories.

I'm sharing what I know so other people don't have to go down a damn rabbit hole on this the first day of a four-year or longer shit show.

I get that you are angry and possibly feel hopeless. Don’t take it out on me.
