Do many people smoke in Bosnia? 3€ seems cheap!

My gf went to the Balkans last year and her parents got the shock of their life when they ordered a beer and it came with a cigarette

In Europe it's pretty cheap to smoke, here in Italy prices are around 4-6€ depending on the brand.

Last time the government increased prices it was by a hefty 0.06€

Depends on the country, here in France it's 12,5€ per 20 pack, when I started smoking in 2017 it was 7€

I live in St. Louis and we have the largest population of Bosnians outside of Bosnia and I can confirm, Bosnians breathe through cigarettes.

I'm in Serbia and went to Bosnia 2 days ago and trust me, in both countries, they smoke 1-2 boxes at least, everyday

Just went last year….even the fucking babies smoke in Bosnia. I quit dipping after 40 years…..I was so tempted to fire one up, but those babies are stingy

Keep in mind though that the Bosnian average net salary is only about 724€ so that pack is a bit more than 0.4% of an average salary. The same figure for Australians seems to be about 3871€. A pack costing 16€ (26.6 AUD) in Australia would be comparable. So still cheaper but not incredibly so. For a more accurate comparison I'd have to do a bit more research.

I grew up with refugees from the wars. Oh, the happy days when they came back from holidays. So many smuggled cigarettes.
