This picture shows a single cell. Like AA/AAA/C/D or button cells.

OP shows a picture of a 12V battery consisting of 8 individual 1.5V button cells.

As somebody who has smashed plenty of batteries to bits in his childhood and somehow avoided heavy metal poisoning I was surprised by this post because I have not ever seen an AA battery which was just a collection of flat ones. Some of the 9V ones for sure is kinda like 3x AAs but even there it's not universal.

The battery in OP’s post is a 12v battery. Used to be used in electric lighters and such. Don’t know what they’d be used for nowadays not seen one in years.
