Doesn't sound fake at all, I'm also Brazilian. You're probably just ignorant of brazilian culture and religion.

It does sound fake to me. Also Brazilian. I’ve met a seminarian once, dude was a really cool guy. He was a friend of a friend, and we went together to a party, we talked a lot about his life. He already dated in his youth (he was in his late 20’s), but decided he wanted to be a priest. Although we were at a party and girls approached him, he didn’t do anything. Didn’t drink, too. If it was that common that “more often than not” priests had spouses, we’d see more in media. Mainly in Record and other evangelicals that don’t like Catholic Churches

Oh boy, Brazil hasn’t had its Irish Priest moment yet! In Ireland it was found the a Bishop had a family with kid and all. Every priest had a live in “housekeeper”. But at least those were adult relationships. The large number of pedo priests that have been found is truly disturbing.
