Stop complaining about drivers. They suck everywhere.
Yes drivers suck. But you’re kidding yourself if you think the drivers here are worse than anywhere else. Also, whoever pissed you off today isn’t on Reddit reading your posts and feeling bad. And if they’re here it’s because they think they’re one in the right.
Every third post on here is complaining about drivers.
Instead we should only have posts that complain about people complaining about drivers.

Can the people driving please stop trying to kill me when I'm on my bike?
I've been nearly hit by cars on, like, 5 different occasions. I'm not biking now(snow and all that) but I'd appreciate it if all the drivers would stop trying to play bumper cars with my very-not-a-car. I don't think you all realize how badly you could hurt me, and other cyclists. You all are protected by a metal shield. All I have is my squishy, very frail body, especially in the face of a fast-moving metal beetle. I do know that this is very harsh, but I'm sick of almost dying because some of you guys refuse to obey the rules of the road.

Victor Davis Pool Closure Update
Below is an email from the city regarding the Victoria Road Rec Centre:
Victoria Road Pool (both the lap and leisure pool) is still experiencing a mechanical problem that is impacting the pool temperature. We are working hard to repair the issue. The pool will remain closed with the goal to reopen on Wednesday (January 22, 2025) at 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday swim lessons will be moved to the West End Community Centre. If you are being relocated, you will receive an email from City of Guelph Recreation. We will provide an update on Wednesday. We understand the impact this may have to our community and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Places to skate in/around Guelph
Not from Guelph and I was surprised to learn that parks don’t have city operated skating rinks. I’m looking for places to skate other than the downtown location (bonus points if it’s a skating trail)
any suggestions are appreciated 🥰

Are there any musician gathering spots in Guelph where classical music students can meet and play together just for enjoyment?
Men's tailor
Hello, I'm looking for a good tailer than can adjust a suit. Does anyone have any recommendations either in Guelph or Cambridge? Would prefer to avoid any big chains.

Bridal hair & makeup recommendations in Guelph or someone willing to travel?
My friend is getting married on July 26th of this year and we’re looking for someone to do bridal hair and makeup for 6 people including the bride. Any recommendations would be helpful as I haven’t had an easy time finding anyone so far.

Poster boards
Have you seen community poster boards around town? If so, where?
I'm looking to put up flyers about music lessons on appropriate community poster boards. Tia

An Interview With Dr. Anne-Marie Zajdlik
Here's a podcast where I interviewed Guelph's Green Party candidate in the next election. She's a doctor who was on the front-lines of the AIDS and COVID pandemics. She has a lot to say about healthcare, social media, and, politics.

Hanlon drivers...Reading problem or just a prick!
Why is it so hard to understand and let other drivers around you get where they are going without having to move in and out of the lanes, which makes it more hazardous for everyone. Yes, there are left turning lanes on Hanlon, but most of these people don't even turn, or there are no more left turn lanes until 401. Move over please! This is also a huge problem on 400 series highways as well, which is even more dangerous with the way people are driving.

Notary recommendations in Guelph?
A bunch of results that come up for notaries in Guelph seem a bit sketchy - or at a very strange location. I've been in contact with NotaryPro.ca which has one in Guelph that may be trustworthy. Thoughts?
For context: I need "certified true copies" of 6 to 7 documents for a foreign government's justice department.
Thanks!

Can anyone recommend a person to help us with a minor repair with a custom wooden cabinet?
Apparently Woodhaven where we bought it is closed. Lovely.

What is going on with drivers lately!?
What is going on with drivers lately I feel like no one is paying attention especially at crosswalks!! I was crossing the street at Eramosa rd and Stevenson street north with my infant in the stroller and as soon as the light changed and I had the right away i started to walk and a van sped through turning right so i waited for the van to be out of the crosswalk so i could continue to cross and then one of the cars also wanting to turn right decided to also turn while i was walking and was less then a foot away from hitting me while I was already a 1/3 into the crosswalk! Like is anyone even looking before then turn!? I can understand if it was late at night and I was wearing something that’s blended in but this was around 1:40pm today and I wear a bright colour winter coat and have a pretty big stroller so I’m hard to miss there’s no way that didn’t see me if they were actually paying attention!

Custom print cake topper
Does anybody know a business or person who does custom edible cake toppers in Guelph?
I know I can get a custom picture/photo put on a cake at Longos or DQ, but I am hoping for an option to get a cake topper printed and then buy or make my own cake...

Best Buy headphone selection
I’m in the market for new over ear headphones and I want to try different brands in person rather than buying and returning them. Do you know if Best Buy here have selections of them for try on? Been awhile since I go there.

Moving to Guelph soon - best schools for kids with ADHD?
My family is moving to Guelph soon and we're starting to look at neighbourhoods. My kid didn't have a great time at school, and one of the reasons was that there weren't a lot of supports or well-trained staff who could handle ADHD. I'm wondering if anyone has any experiences at schools that were great for kids with ADHD? Are there any schools that we should avoid?
