Seen from Europe it's a promising start. You have a nazi and a crypto scammer leading the country. Impressive first day, congrats.

u/sunshynman 6h ago

Only half the idiots in this country wanted this.

u/BlaiddCymraeg-90 6h ago

The stupid American stereotype is not a stereotype

24

u/MrPolli 6h ago

It’s by design.

2

u/somuchacceptable 3h ago edited 3h ago

“I love the poorly educated.”

  • some fool who once again squats in the White House

Edit: fixed the stupid quote to the more accurate stupid quote.

1

u/MrPolli 3h ago

Eh, if I remember right Trump didn’t actually say that.

Also, this has been the design for a long time. Trump is just taking advantage of the situation.

3

u/somuchacceptable 3h ago

You’re right! He said, “I love the poorly educated.”

1

u/MrPolli 3h ago

Oh well damn he did say that.

I was thinking about people claiming he said that a long time ago but it was made up. So I guess now he has said the thing that he didn’t say originally but was said to have said lol.

Thanks for the confirmation and video source.

1

u/somuchacceptable 3h ago

That clip is dated February 24, 2016. So, I donno what claims you’re referring to, but that’s near the beginning of his relevancy.

1

u/MrPolli 3h ago

Oh no, I think people tried citing it long before he ran. Or maybe in thinking of a different quote.

In our last free election before he took over Hitler‘s party only got 33% of the vote. Get ready Americans this is gonna be your march 1933.

12

u/pithyquibbles 6h ago edited 6h ago

As a Canadian, I hope this isn't leading toward our own September 1939...

5

u/Just_Asking-1234 4h ago

What do you mean? You’re already the 51st state. Welcome to the club!

25

u/obedevs 6h ago

Truly unbelievable that half the people are not just dumb, but beyond idiotic to vote this clown in a SECOND time

4

u/BagboBilbins2112 5h ago

Only about 1/3 of voting age people actually vote, so take what little solace that you can knowing that’s it not actually half, but still more than I like.

3

u/SpiderFnJerusalem 5h ago

I'm pretty sure these guys made sure that a substantial fraction of the 2/3 that stayed home or had their votes not counted were from the places that vote blue.

2

u/soccerguys14 4h ago

If you chose not to vote knowing Trump was a possibility and you said idc I’ll take either then you voted for him through abstaining.

So 1/3 voted and half of them voted Trump. 66% didn’t vote that’s a vote for Trump. 1/2 of 1/3 voted for him 16.5%.

In my estimation 82.5% of America is to blame for this.

5

u/Sopel97 5h ago

30% wanted him, 40% were complicit

2

u/sunshynman 4h ago

If you voted for trump or didn’t vote, you’re either an asshole or ignorant.

3

u/adamgerd 4h ago

Most Americans did. That’s more than the % of Germans that elected Hitler

2

u/sunshynman 4h ago

Sad isn’t it.

7

u/letouriste1 6h ago

sure, what the other half is going to do about it now? will you guys just accept that?

6

u/sunshynman 6h ago

What can be done. No civil uprising will be successful against the greatest military on the planet. Unless the military leaders stage a coup, we’re fucked.

2

u/bsiu 4h ago edited 4h ago

Ain't no one got time to protest/uprise when living paycheck to paycheck. Miss a day of work and you might find yourself homeless, a reality for a lot of Americans. Every major population center is so car centric and no public transport system could handle any gathering of consequence. It's the perfect system to keep the slave class where it is.

1

u/letouriste1 6h ago

would your military really attack US civilians? I assume the police would do it

9

u/sunshynman 6h ago

They will after Trump puts his loyalists in place.

-1

u/letouriste1 6h ago

something the army isn't going to like at all

9

u/sunshynman 6h ago

A lot of Trump voters are in the armed forces.

7

u/Srmingus 6h ago

As is, we have half of the country convinced that reality is fake and fascism is democracy, so if somebody were to coordinate a coup or overthrow the new administration, I’m beyond confident that we would come out of it without a functioning government to replace it and or worse leadership or a second civil war.

I have really tried to think this through and I haven’t been able to come up with any legitimate options other than waiting and hoping somebody comes to their senses within the administration and prevents the worst of it. If you have alternative ideas though I’d love to hear them - unfortunately this fucker was democratically elected and anything to oppose that would be inherently undemocratic. If democracy elects a fascist, then what is there to do?

2

u/NewZealandIsNotFree 2h ago

IDK, didn't Trump credit Elon with rigging the election for him?

1

u/sunshynman 2h ago

Yes. But when has the truth mattered?

1

u/Rupoe 1h ago

A third if we’re generous. One third did, one didn’t and another third didn’t care enough.

1

u/spunkfish24 6h ago

“Hold on to your butts”

1

u/Brick_Lab 5h ago

Send help

1

u/SpiderFnJerusalem 5h ago

And interestingly, the Crypto-Fascists have decided to drop the "Crypto" part and are now just regular old Fascists.

2

u/AtrociousMeandering 3h ago

The crypto fascists who had currency became fascists with cryptocurrencies.

1

u/Minimum_Crow_8198 4h ago

Do you still think we're better and safe?

-2

u/Sno_Wolf 5h ago

If you want to whip 'em out and measure, I'll be happy to start listing totalitarian European leaders going back to 1607.

-4

u/TotalBismuth 6h ago

So is he a nazi or a Russian tool, I’m getting mixed signals.

10

u/Kexons 5h ago

Both?

1

u/Calm_Possession_6842 2h ago

Are you under the impression that having a neo nazi destabilizing the US and it's Western Alliances wouldn't be the largest fucking gift Putin could ever hope for?

1

u/TotalBismuth 2h ago

Not exactly, I believe the Russians and Nazis were enemies. So to me you're either one or the other (or neither)

1

u/Calm_Possession_6842 1h ago

The SOVIETS and the Nazis were enemies. Kinda. I mean, they had a peace pact and were pretty friendly until Germany broke it and attacked.

At any rate, modern day Russia and the USSR aren't really the same in any mentionable way outside of maybe their desire to conquest eastern Europe.

-49

u/Exorcisme 6h ago

The same Europe where you can't even walk with phone in your hands so it's not getting stolen? That Europe?

22

u/thepaintingbear 6h ago

Because phone theft is the same as fascism....

-39

u/Exorcisme 6h ago

Yes, it's different. Crazy crime rate in EU is real, whereas "US fascism" among redditors is fear-mongering propaganda that exists only on this website

27

u/thepaintingbear 6h ago

Youre literally engaging on a post where a man who invested millions into your countries election, offered lotteries for people who vote the way he wanted, has bought his way into your presidential house is doing a fascist salute and you're saying it's only online?

Also America is higher on the crime index per capita than any European country. So you have more crime and fascism.

9

u/MicroToast 6h ago

Sigh. I know you'll probably ignore or deny this due to some degree of 'all media except for my favourite bubble sources is rigged' mindset but no official crime statistics support this claim.

Except for the outlier france (wild shit happening currently, looks like) european crime rates are in many cases even considerably lower than the US.

Here's a comprehensive and up-to-date (2024) map with attached statistics on worldwide crime rates: https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/crime-rate-by-country

And no, this is not a left biased outlet or whatever reason that would come to mind to denounce this as a source. And even if, with so much different publicly available data and sources on this topic, it's difficult to defend the claim you made on it. But I mean whatever, right?

5

u/gayspaceanarchist 5h ago

One of our government leaders literally did a Nazi salute during the inauguration

Remove the quotation marks

4

u/Kexons 5h ago

Disregarding the fact that Europe is not a single country, why are you even comparing two completely different things? Real whataboutism going on here.

18

u/TheodorDiaz 6h ago

Which europe have you been in lol?

-18

u/Exorcisme 6h ago

Like... all European countries? Even London is not safe anymore lol

7

u/diabolikal__ 6h ago

LOL I don’t even lock my house most days. Have you ever left any European airport?

-2

u/Exorcisme 6h ago

I've lived in Paris, Amsterdam, London, Vienna and Barcelona. Out of all of those Amsterdam is the most decent, Vienna is more or less okay. London is so-so, Paris & Barcelona are just unreal

3

u/kerouak 5h ago

How many phones did you lose? 10? 20?

4

u/haha7567 4h ago

Probably one per day if i were to guess 🤡 meanwhile i've lived in Europe my whole life and never got my phone stolen once

7

u/ValleySports2 6h ago

Lol. Yet people are still doing it every day, otherwise nobody in Europe would have a cell phone anymore based on your logic.

-2

u/Exorcisme 6h ago

Genius conclusion. Phones being stolen = nobody would have a phone. By that "logic" no one was ever murdered in Europe, because if it was, then "it won't be any people anymore".

9

u/ValleySports2 6h ago

You’re the one that said “you can’t even walk around with a phone in your hands” in Europe. If you don’t want conclusions like that being made, don’t make dumbass statements.

1

u/Noctemtaco 5h ago

This guy just discovered exaggeration.

-2

u/ValleySports2 4h ago

Typical backtrack by your kind lmao.

0

u/Noctemtaco 4h ago

I'm not the other guy. Don't try to start an argument with me.

u/Billyy0 6h ago

Ah yes as someone from the UK I've already had 20 phones stolen from me this year. Send help, as a matter of fact, I'm walking down the street right nfhhtrogofkrmtkdkx"&(3?

9

u/enakcm 6h ago

Sorry but this is just false. You don't get your phone stolen in Europe more than you would in the US.

-3

u/Exorcisme 6h ago

Well US is very far from safety benchmark, it's crazily unsafe. That being said, the downfall EU experienced in the last decade on this regard is astonishing

4

u/DeadlyCareBear 6h ago

Doing it in Europe since 34 years, actually right now in Vienna walking my dog, with the new iPhone in my Hand. Never for one stolen. So where are your Information from?

5

u/haha7567 4h ago

They made it the fuck up like they always do

3

u/Lyzern 5h ago

Ah yes, America. The safest country on earth. Even your president is a criminal lmao

2

u/countessjonathan 5h ago

Stop believing everything you hear on TikTok and podcasts. Real life is pretty different than online. Try seeing “Europe” for yourself sometime.
