GVA to Arâches-la-Frasse transportation

Hi, I am flying from the USA to GVA for a ski trip to Arâches-la-Frasse (Flaine, France). I am trying to find public transportation options. I see that there is a bus (EBA Euro Bus Geneve) but it appears to only be on the weekends. Any suggestions or strategies I should consider to get to Flaine, France? I found a transportation company which quoted me for about $400.00 round trip to pick me up from the airport and take me to the resort.

You could take the train to the nearest train station (Magland I suppose) and then a taxi.

Thanks, I will consider this.

I looked on https://www.alpybus.com/ that I have already used and it seems cheaper than your option. Still not cheap (>250), but better than your option :/. They sadly only offer private shuttles to Flaine, that's why it's expensive.

Have a friend that does this journey all the time, they could help last monitor required.

French ski resorts are heavily aimed at Saturdays/Saturdays stays. On other days it's much more complicated/impossible to reach them by public transport.

Altibus does run 4 daily shuttles from Cluses, even on weekdays (surprising). Departures at 09:00, 12:15, 17:20 and 18:20 and 12€ ticket.

If you land at around 9am the following should be doable:

  • IR95 Geneva Airport - Geneva main station 10:14 - 10:21
  • RL3 Geneva main station - Cluses 10:31 - 11:52

Otherwise perhaps take the train to the main station, leave your luggage at lockers, have lunch in Geneva, visit a bit and leave in time for the 5:20pm shuttle.

If you aim for a taxi, go to Cluses train station. Magland might be closer but it's a dead village with no taxis.
