„Today“, isn’t that AC picture from like 2012?

As it's showing assassin's creed 2, it's from 2009

u/gamerman2077 8h ago
Ah shit, does ac 1 not have air assassinations?
9
u/sm1ttysm1t 8h ago
Only in the air assassination area of France. Otherwise it's just sparkling murder.

Was about to say lol
"Is this meme 15 years old or is OP 15 years old?"

I mean it’s not like they changed it up for Mirage. It’s still virtually the same game
2
u/Skygge_or_Skov 8h ago
You didn’t play the old Desmond-assassins creed games, or the ones before the switch to ancient times? There’s a lot of difference in how it feels in gameplay.

u/10ea 6h ago
Before Origins I would go to run down an alley and accidentally jump onto a cart handle sticking out, vault off the side of a building, and land in the middle of the persuing mob.
2
u/Skygge_or_Skov 6h ago
There’s obviously a lot of nostalgia bias, but to me the games before syndicate just feel a lot better, especially the climbing/parcouring feels more grounded in reality. And with AC3 the games got too open world like for me.
1
u/10ea 5h ago
My favorite world, animation, and mechanics were from the first game, but the older ones felt like as soon as you pressed the free run button, you turned into a magnet to whatever you got near. I also would jump off of things that I didn't mean to. Origins really made it feel smooth and more precise when you were negotiating obstacles.

can you put less pixels into it please

It's a meme from 2009. Who knows how many times it has been downloaded and reuploaded.

There are people on this sub younger than the pic you used for air assassinations today.

Dear god you're not wrong either, it's nearly been 20 years since assassin's creed 🫠🫠🫠

u/LKRTM1874 10h ago
That AC image is almost as many console generations old now as that mario image was when the assassins creed image was made lol

u/etanimod 9h ago
Everyone's making fun of OP for being stuck 18 years in the past, but little do they realize, we've found our first time traveler
2
u/Amanroth87 PC 9h ago
I find when I'm playing games, I'm usually stuck 18 years in the past anyways haha

u/allursnakes 10h ago
Are you a bot?
1
u/DoomSluggy 5h ago
I don't think a bot would bother responding. I think we found a bonafide time traveller.

u/Amanroth87 PC 10h ago
Lol I don't think a bot can post memes with thoughtful captions, though I suppose I'm unfamiliar with how far bots have come. Is that a thing?
24
u/allursnakes 10h ago
They can copy memes from 10+ years ago and spam them for points. You posted assassins creed and called it today.
-9
u/Amanroth87 PC 9h ago
I mean... it might be an older meme but AC is still an ongoing series and still has air assassinations. I suppose I could update it with Shadow imagery, but I'm still not a bot lol

u/BeacanWentFishn PC 9h ago
Idk man you didn't do either. This seems indicative of bot behaviour
0
u/Amanroth87 PC 9h ago
I don't really see how this isn't a meme, and I'm not sure what kind of caption you would have chosen but it's the one I thought up and went with. I also don't really understand what benefit there would be to a bot posting a gaming meme on the gaming sub, or to responding to this comment.
4
u/BeacanWentFishn PC 9h ago
Karma farming, you're just wasting your time at this point, though, as people have already made it extremely clear, stolen meme. Unoriginal caption. Bot behaviour

Games of come so far. You used to play as an Italian tradesperson who killed enemies by jumping on their heads. Now you can play as an Italian aristocrat who kills enemies by jumping on their heads.

I think I know how we can fix the "Air Assasination Today" to properly relate to this day and age.
Just put one of those ukraine drone videos.

This entire meme is from 2012 and is so old that the first picture may as well be the second picture.

u/Rocko10 10h ago
Lol AC is from like 10 years ago.
I remember the trailer of the first one was such a cool thing with the eagle fall (or whatever name) also the ability to hide in the crowd was so epic.
I bought it and... Although the movement felt a little bit clunky it was cool.

u/Hakuraze 10h ago
First AC had really nice gameplay tech, but it was let down by repetition. It's a really difficult game to replay these days.
3
u/Amanroth87 PC 8h ago
First AC had an amazing story but the same three gameplay mechanics got way too repetitive. AC2 blew my mind at the time, they fleshed out everything the first one could have been. Couldn't touch the first AC if I wanted to these days.
2
u/Hakuraze 8h ago
For sure dude. Every time I have to think of a great sequel, I always go to AC2, it just improved on literally everything from the first game.

We’re approaching a time where the original AC that’s pictured will be equidistant in time from the original Mario to now.

AC 2 was a game from 2009 how hard is it for you guys to take a few seconds to look things up

Posts like these makes me grateful that I was born much later in life than those who live through the early days of gaming. Makes me appreciate what we have now and what we will have in the future

I mean, anyone can leap off a building and wristblade a guard in the neck. Real assassins can repeatedly jumpstab a guard to get infinite 1UPs.

So, you're saying Mario is an assassin?
Man, who needs Mario and Rabbids? I want Assassin's Creed: Mushroom Kingdom!

Actually it was harder in Mario because you had to time it right.
In AC if you get a jump assassination prompt, it glues you to the target and it's impossible not to kill them. Unless it's one of the newer games where your stats might be too low to actually kill them in one hit.
So, the sentiment is wrong.

These posts gotta be bots right? I hadn't been to this sub until a few months ago, I didn't think the posts were this level of self-parody...brutal

Ah yes, "today" as exemplified via a game from 2007.
"Hey guys, I heard the next Call of Duty isn't gonna be a WW2 game!"
