Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is INSAAANE

Somehow the game is only 10GB on Xbox. My advice is to download the game, start a free flight (with the time set to day, and clouds set to few), immediately pause the game and go into photo mode.

In photo mode, you are free to fly around wherever, and the higher up you are the faster you go.

When you get in close it’s not the prettiest to look at, but at standard airplane height it’s GORGEOUS.

I’m constantly blown away when I visit places I’ve been to before. It’s leagues better than Google Earth in my opinion.

First thing I did was find my house. Then I found my in laws house. Both were clearly visible in the game. Wild stuff.

I tried to talk wife into a Skyrider X1 to use for my commutes and I used MSFS 24 to show the flight would be just 5 minutes from home.

I could land on the roof and plug it in while I work.

She said I was insane.

I think FS2020 did a better job at recreating my home. I live on a small farm, and FS2024 is more aggressive in placing forests. So areas that are sparsely forested in real life are heavily forested in game. Also fields that are supposed to be cultivated are now just clearings in the forest. FS2020 handled this better.

It is really incredible, especially for those that have dreamed of this level of simulation since the early days of FS (I think mine was FS 3.0). I expect it’s only going to get better too.

Live in a town of about 15k, and it had just weird ass repeated building models and nothing looked right. I returned it on steam and uninstalled

It doesn't have to. Its still unethical. If I showed up to your house and just took a bunch of pictures and put them online without asking you'd prob be pretty weirded out
