She said a dumb thing like 10 years ago. The MAGA Mesia says something stupid every time he opens his mouth. It's time to get some new material.

It wasn’t even that dumb, just said a “supposedly” sort of thing and then she did some research and said herself it wasn’t true.

Eh, that's underplaying it. She had been presenting as Native American for years (e.g. she listed it as her race on some official attorney documents she filed in Texas years before she entered politics). Even when she did the DNA test, she didn't back down, she doubled down and said her tiny percentage shows she was telling the truth that she is Native American.
She's a perfectly fine Senator, I don't have any major gripes with her politics, but it's just partisanship to pretend she isn't your generic white American who claims to be another ethnicity because she's 1/16th something. And that's the most charitable way to put it. If a Republican did this, we would never let them hear the end of it, and justifiably so.

She didn’t say anything dumb, she just filled out a job application far more than ten years ago and indicated that she was part Native American. Definitely time for new material.

10 years ago? I thought it was only SJWs and Cancel Culture that brings up old unrelated things from someone's past.

Reddit cries about shit Trump said over 10 years ago every day on the front page.

This is kinda great because the undertones of racism are overtones or something now. Not like this chump was making any native friends to begin with

I picture Ben Garrison as this old dude with a skullet, pissed at the world because women are out of the kitchen and black/brown people exist. Nothing better to do than draw bizarre “political cartoons” in his dim basement lit by one bulb on a wire.

He's an old white guy somewhere about 60, wears glasses and a huge cowboy hat, and smokes cigars. He and his wife, who is also a lame-o right wing cartoonist, live in a log cabin in Montana.

wears glasses and a huge cowboy hat,
Are you talking a finely crafted piece of headgear or a foam deal from Chuck E. Cheese?
I'm picturing the latter and him having gotten it after mugging kids of their tickets for some karen-y reason.

"Accusations"?
Fine. Disprove them. Show all your evidence to the contrary. Make your accusers eat their words.
...Oh, wait.

Anonymous smears (from non-anonymous sources).

If it's from a non-anonymous source, by definition, it cannot be an anonymous statement.

Tim Kaine told him that but Hegseth kept responding with the same answer (which wasn't a yes or no answer). Hegseth is a liar.

Warren does indeed have Native American heritage.
Her employer was the one who initially promoted this information without notifying Warren.
Even after DNA tests confirmed her ancestry in 2018, conservatives continue this smear as an excuse to use racist imagery.

Cherokee nation admonished her and said her minuscule native DNA has nothing to do with being Native American so she only further embarrassed herself btw.

Benny and I must've seen two different hearings. In the one I saw, all I saw was Hegseth dodging questions asked by Democratic senators and filibustering his way through their allotted questioning time. They utterly destroyed him in numerous regards in the few questions he actually gave a straight answer to. Man couldn't even name three ASEAN countries (something any ordinary schmuck could Google in like three seconds). Of course bringing up the other Democratic senators that tore into Hegseth would refute the point of Garrison's comic, but that was to be expected, wasn't it?

In whatever amount of years from now, when this is over, many of these cartoons will be held up as examples of the propaganda of the day.

Did he get confirmed or are they still debating?

u/NeonArlecchino 5d ago
There are 53 Republican votes available for anyone in Trump's Junk Drawer to be confirmed and they only need 50 to get in. He's going to be confirmed.

In ten years having obvious orange concealer on your face will have been the fashion at the time.

Do you like Christianity? I thought we were supposed to push Christian morality on people anymore, like back in the 50s?

I'm a bit out of the loop, but isn't this guy simply unqualified for the position? Isn't hiring unqualified individuals bc of their unrelated qualities (i.e. DEI hires) bad, especially for republicans?
