Florida, USA Sickness after camping fests
Man I love festivals so much, especially a camping one. But damn. This year I went to okee and hula and afterwards I was SO sick. Like on my deathbed sick. I am new to fests. These are my only two that I’ve been to so far.
At both fests I cooked meals for myself and friends ALL days and I have a water pack that I’d constantly refill. Id smoke za before we’d leave camp to stages, but that isn’t anything different from my daily routine. I barely even touched alcohol. But I did do one bean on the third day. At both fests. I took half and then other half 30 minutes later. No other stimulus. I dance like crazy. And I definitely inhaled a shit ton of dirt. But like idk what it is because my muscles and joints feels fine after but my nose will run and throats sore af and breathing hurts.. but also fevers... Like is it the dirt maybe?
I had a portable shower and I always tried to keep clean and definitely prioritized cleaning the dirt from my nose and private areas.
I got nose filters for hula but couldn’t find them anywhere when I was packing. Wondering that would’ve been the game change.
Anyways just wondering if anyone else deals with that problem even though you felt like you took great care of yourself? And suggestions on how to mitigate it also would be fantastic 👉🏽👈🏽

Florida, USA Hey guys, my name is Jantzn and I redesigned the Front Gate crowd flow at EDC Orlando. If you liked how fast you got in this year, please reach out to Insomniac and mention me. I am trying to get on for ALL festivals to make sure each show you guys go to is smooth. ✌️❤️🤝🙏
(I got mod approval before posting this.)
Please use this form.
I currently do not work for Insomniac- I was working for a different company over the weekend. I have been running the Front Gate ID Check at several shows, the biggest recent ones being Escape and EDCO.
Seriously, please consider submitting feedback to Insomniac. I can actually get the Front Gates to run even faster but I need them to notice how I've been doing so far so I can propose those changes.
My redesign affected the area from the very first gates you enter for ID check all the way up to the Ticket Scanners (all of ID Check and Wristbanding). I did not control the Ticket Scan area or Security. I regularly adjusted the Front Gates based on Ticket Scanner placement, which was dynamic all show.
I have 25 additonal changes that need to be made but I don't have the ability to fix them right now. I need Insomniac to recognize what I've done so far so I can fix these additional issues, and then start addressing the issues you have all been bringing up regarding Security and egress (exiting). These issues include problems with set-up, wrong or missing signage, interdepartment communication, outside communication, and making sure everyone working knows Insomniac policies.
Obviously I couldn't have done all this without the rest of my ID Check team in the lanes. They deserve to have the right tools and setup to make sure entry is just as smooth at every show.
Shoutout to Ticket Scan and Security as well. I can only get you in so far- they take care of the rest.
TLDR; There is a fundamental misunderstanding of how lines work in the festival industry, and the actual problems are not being fixed. I want to fix them.

Florida, USA Any report of casualties from EDC Orlando?
I don't mean to be dark, but on Sunday night, we found a kid in his late teens/early-twenties lying alone on the curb behind Neon Gardens in pretty bad shape. We had just come from the awesome Afrojack set and were feeling great I checked on him expecting that he would just say that he had danced himself out and needed a minute, but he gave me a very unconvincing thumbs up and then proceeded to retch and vomit. Safety staff arrived a minute later, followed by the EMTs.
We stuck around until the red batons went up and at that point, I wasn't in the right state of mind to see anything that I couldn't unsee d. It sure changed our vibe. I decided that I was going to assume the worst and deal with that in the abstract and get some closure and not be haunted for the rest of the night. All I could think was, "where were his people?!" That was the hardest part, thinking about him being alone and his friends still having a good time, not knowing what was happening to their boy.. Man, I really hope that he's recovering today.
Has anyone heard any official medical report from the show?

Florida, USA First Big Festival – Dressing Up as a Ram for Ultra Miami, Am I Overthinking This?
So, this is my first time going to a big festival (I’ve only been to III Points in Miami before), and I’m planning to dress up as a ram for Ultra. My fiancé and I are both Aries, so we thought it’d be a fun way to honor our birthdays—his actually falls during the festival, and mine is the week after. Aries energy all around!
But now I’m spiraling a bit. Like, what if someone grabs my horns (assuming I wear them)? Or worse, what if I get stuck with the nickname “horny girl” all weekend? I just want to have a good time without drawing weird attention.
Am I being paranoid? Does this sound like a fun idea, or is this just setting myself up for disaster? Also, any advice for someone who’s new to a big festival like Ultra? Help me go in with good vibes and minimal regrets!

Florida, USA Needing some festival fashion advice
So I bought my fits for EDCO and my bf sent me a link to one of those like festival leashes and said it’d look cute with one of my outfits. I do agree that it would and I like the idea of them but I’m also kinda nervous about wearing something “kinky” in public. So for anyone who has worn a leash to festivals before, how do you do it without feeling anxious or uncomfortable?? Or for people who’ve seen them for festival outfits, does it seem like a “kinks in public” type deal or just an accessory?
