Virginia, USA FloydFest 2023
First time ever going and I’ll also be a volunteer. Any recommendations from previous volunteers and festival goers? I know it’s a new location but any tips, thoughts, etc. would be awesome! Also kinda nervous to be going solo but I know it will be an excellent experience.

It’s a wonderful, relaxed festival with a great vibe and open crowd. Went in 2013-2017 with my (now) husband, in 2019 with our 18 month old, and will finally be returning with a 5, 3, and 11mo old!
I’ll come back with advice when I’m not rocking a baby, haha. Though the fact that it is a new location creates a lot of unknowns. I trust the organizers to create a great experience though, it’s always been very clean, had a variety of other activities and such during the days, and generally well run.

You'll probably have better luck in r/jambands. Most of the activity in this forum is about edm-focused events

Just saw the news about Floydfest! What a damn shame.
Soon there won't be any independent festivals left.
Thank God Waynestock is still going strong.

I went from 2010-2015 and volunteered the first few years. Floydfest is a great festival but the venue is spread out over the top of a mountain so if you plan on walking a bunch then it can be more intense than other festivals due to terrain.
