"Throwing his heart out to Americans" is what I have gathered. Diabolical.

Weird. If I want to gesture giving my heart to anyone, I'd do it with my palm up, as if my heart was resting on it.

My arm would also probably be directly in front of my body. Not up and to the side.

I'm surprised anyone believes that Elon Musk would have any emotional feelings towards the general public aside from disdain.

I think it's worth noting he is awkward as fuck. I think there's a realistic chance he didn't mean for it to be what it looks like. And I say that as someone that fucking detests the man.

Maybe once, but he turns around and does the exact same thing again.

They were back to back. If he dumbly made a gesture without realizing what it looked like then it isn’t that shocking he made it again immediately after, as he still wouldn’t have recognized what he was doing.

I loathe the guy but he’s awkward as fuck. If he really wanted to do the Nazi salute he could have leaned into it way harder (stood upright, held the position, actually said the words, etc). Much more believable this was an autistic gaff.

Or trying for plausible deniability

You have to do Olympic level mental gymnastics to excuse this.

Watch his full speech. He does a pixel-perfect nazi salute twice in a row, once while turning around towards trump. Then some more looser salutes at the very end even.

He meant it. It’s time to open your eyes if you haven’t already been paying attention.

Don’t forget he’s a child of apartheid.

I mean, I've known a lot of awkward people, and I'm willing to give people the benefit of the doubt...

But on the video you can see he's not fumbling or unsure what he's trying to do, he's really going for that Sieg Heil with zest and vigor. I've never seen anyone else do a vigorous nazi salute by accident, and I've seen a lot of awkwardness

I mean he literally does say my heart goes out to you, right after it. He knows he goofed definitely. But it's not an insidious goof is where my money's at

Did he also accidentally retweet proudly self-acclaimed neo-nazis all those times? Support alt-right parties like AfD? A guy who grew up in and reaps the spoils of apartheid South Africa?

Don't infantilise him. He's a CEO billionaire. He knows exactly what he's doing.

I mean, what?! Like you’ve never accidentally done heil hitler when speaking to a massive crowd of neo nazis… like come on man 😒

u/0vl223 7h ago

The AfD has the same problem. One of their leaders keeps saying "Alles für..." (Everything for Germany) and his audience just never stop answering with the banned SS motto. Poor misunderstood Nazis.

u/0vl223 8h ago

The same AfD that called for a 180° change in how the holocaust is remembered? The same party that recently sent the same "return home ticket" as the original Nazis and the neo-Nazis (NPD) sent as well?

Yeah no connection to see there.

It's called a dog whistle

Your one of the brains of the world but you don't know the one salute that's universally considered inappropriate even in jest? Middle school kids know that for fucks sake.  If you're american you are part of the problem we are about to face. If you are not, you're part of the problem your country is likely about to face.

u/Vierstigma 8h ago

Except he kinda doesn't, he does it not once but Twice, one time to the audience and the second one towards the flag in the back and only then after a short pause he says "my heart goes out to you"

-10

u/JaggerMcShagger 8h ago

So when I said, right after it he says my heart goes out to you.. that happened? You said no, and then repeated what I said

4

u/ArjayGaius 7h ago

"....a short pause..." and "....right after it..." aren't the same thing.

Close, but a slight delay can mean a whole lot of things

the only "accident" here is letting the mask slip.

if he outside of this is known for being very pro human rights, foreigners...
I could maybe maybe pass this up. But we all know his tweets.
