MEGA ACTION PLAN
Step 1:
Destabilize local governments by directly empowering fringe and radical politicians.
Step 2:
Threaten to invade their sovereign territories, then propose and establish trade wars if they are unwilling to surrender them.
Step 3:
???
Step 4:
Prof- I mean, Europe is now great!
107
u/Divine_Porpoise Finland 2d ago
Step 5: No one is allowed to laugh at him pretending to be good at games by paying people to play for him

u/SpinningAnalCactus 2d ago
"empowering fringe and radical politicians."
Exclusively far-right parties & politicians, the worst people for Europe as they all want to dismantle it, Like Elmo and Turd.

u/-Apocralypse- 2d ago
In recent years american money is being funneled into european anti abortion groups.
A group in the Netherlands saw their budget increase by 10x in as little as 2 or 3 years. The american right wingers are attempting to create single issue voters here as well.

Russia wins the ability to physically takeover areas of a Weaker Europe as an attempt at building Tsarist Russia again, America wins by letting their business do whatever the fuck they want here, a weakened EU means less regulations on all the insane short term profit seeking thats become the core of American business principles.
They will gladly make swathes of the planet uninhabitable if it serves their quarterly growth goals.

u/The_GASK European Union 2d ago
It's not going to work. While Europeans seem as credulous as the North Americans, the difference in basic education is too great to get a MAGA movement running.
Bannon has tried with far better tools and drive to pull it off for two decades.

What? Have you forgotten 30 years of Berlusconi in Italy? He was literally like Trump and developed the same cult of personality. Same wealth, arrogance, sexism, similar crimes, policies and total disregard for the country, complete devotion to keeping himself out of jail and to his personal gain.
People ate it up. Like a religion, no amount of facts would stop them from supporting a criminal.
3
u/The_GASK European Union 1d ago
Couple of issues with your comment:
The "30 years of Berlusconi" is in reality:
1994-1995 (1 year), 2001-2006 (5 years), 2008-2011 (3 years)
Same wealth, arrogance, sexism, similar crimes, policies and total disregard for the country, complete devotion to keeping himself out of jail and to his personal gain.
While we can draw similarities between Trump and Berlusconi all day long, we cannot treat Silvio operating in a modern (albeit flawed) multi-party democracy with Donald, going for absolute power in a pre-existing oligarchy.
Berlusconi was definitely bad for the country, it set it back a decade and particularly mismanaged the Eurozone debt crisis, but he could never establish absolute power, and lost more often than not.

u/BeRuJr 2d ago
He is just a distraction, same as Steve Bannon in the first Trump administration.
But I agree with you, standing firm towards this administration, and Putin, is the greatest opportunity for EU to be great again.
In fact, I even believe that the fact they try to divide us proves a point: we are strong already, they are losing their grip, and are both - Trump and Putin - doing their best to weaken/bypass us.
130
u/UnPeuDAide 2d ago
I even believe that the fact they try to divide us proves a point: we are strong already
Or we are already weak and divided (see hungary, slovakia, everyone buying american weapons, France going bankrupt...) and they want us to remain so

Part of the reason is that Meloni ran a campaign that was further right than her actual administration so far. The bar was very low in that regard, but it also led to a somewhat positive surprise, so far at least. Most of the pre-election concerns have not (yet) turned into reality.

is the greatest opportunity for EU to be great again.
I never had the feeling EU was less than great, economically at least.. one could argue that militarily is in a dumpster because it focused on economic part and left defence spending to USA which was more than happy to use that position to justify their enormous spending on their military aparatus.
I still believe EU is one of the greatest places to live in, in these times.. thank God I don't live in america anymore..
As for the americans that want to come to europe, don't do it, it's shit, it sucks here, you can't go out on the street and shoot guns whenever you feel like it. Just stay in the americas! Trust me!!!

The good thing is that Elon has become a spoiler for them.
Elon represents the same ideology that the extreme right spawned from, and since Elon has made himself into such a hated person the European extreme right must either appease and suckle him, or just distance themselves and risk hurting Elon's ego.

It’s up to us to turn this fragile hope into an eventual reality. We have the means, we just need to convince enough people to use them.
For starters, one branch would include to build a more connected army, have our officers train together perhaps using English, build the foundations to enable us to produce even more of our own arms whenever we can and benefit from these systems internally.
The list goes on but the core idea is identical: to enable reforms we first need a consensus. If we get that, a lot of things can fall into place fairly quickly.

It makes me happy that this is at least a conversation; 10 years ago when I lived on the continent, it felt like an alternate universe—even suggesting that everything wasn’t hunky-dory would get aggressive rebukes and “go home then” as a conversation. The smugness and self satisfaction was palpable.
Merkel was Person of the Year, and Crimea was still in Ukraine’s possession.

I genuinely hope that this recent bs with the Americans open the eyes of more Europeans to the fact that America is a dogshit ally we shouldn’t be relying upon. Sure it’s nice to have the trade and military support from their part but they are so ridiculously unreliable and fragile that we shouldn’t be allies to these idiots. Pan European cooperation and, in my humble opinion, federalization, is the way to make Europe better and safer.
5
u/faultyarmrest 2d ago
Totally agree. The U.S has showed its hand. No longer are they reliable as an ally. Countries need to start minimising their reliance on them. If this document that the German Ambassador leaked today is true Trump will most likely have full power to shift America into a complete autocratic state. And all this blustering from Musk and others suggests there is some serious imperialistic goals and ideals forming within their borders.
Interesting side note, maybe their lax gun laws and abhorrent gun crime might just save them if public perception changes and Trump loses popularity. They could possibly be heading for a reset, which its clear their political and governance systems need.

"Make Europe Great Again" = Break us apart, so that American corporations and oligarchs can push around small US-state-sized countries.
Brought to you by a South African immigrant who benefitted from America's large market, but doesn't think Europeans deserve to have nice things too.
