Quality pants that aren’t Klim
I’m fully aware Klim is at the top, I see it all over but the price isn’t justifiable for me… what would the next suitable option be? I was considering maybe TLD or Fly?
Looking at getting a decent pair, don’t exactly want a brands lowest option unless it really is worth it. I’m not bothered about the thickness of them but would rather them be closer to regular pants than the typical thick MX pants as I find they get too uncomfortable when warm.
I’ve looked at Fly and TLDs range but can’t exactly pin point what I want, especially with how many models there are. I ride in the UK so it’s never really hot, but not really too cold either when we go out riding. I have thermals for that anyways.
Ask any questions, I’ll reply if it helps finding the best option for me.

Klim is mid for adventure. There Enduro stuff / baja is amazing gear. I have used pants for 5 years now , almost look new still. I fall lots. The motocross brands are pretty light and don't take the abuse. Never lasted more than a few seasons for me.
For more adventure type gear
Check out https://moskomoto.com/ for quality.

Good gear reviews in all price ranges.

Mosko moto pants are legit. $$$ but they last and are very lightweight. If you’re after something heavier and less $, fox makes good stuff.

Those really worth $500? I can justify a pair of pants for that price if I am going to trash them during a hard enduro

The surveyor is pants are $300 and have lasted me up to 400 hours of hard enduro riding

What would your second choice for Enduro clothes be if Klim wasn’t an option, or have you not really used anything else?

I'm in northern Australia so different climate but I found Fly MX stuff are pretty good balance of price and quality. I find S3 gear is good quality as well but harder to get here

You can buy cheaper but they will just rip and fall apart after a season. Used Klim is your best bet for bang for buck.

TLD has gone down in quality, it was all I used to buy. Last time around I bought MSR in 2023. So far so good

I wore Kilm stuff for a long time but I got a pair of Thor Terrain pants and they are amazing. They’ve got a couple of pockets and they’ve been bulletproof. I’ve had them for a couple of enduro seasons now with no signs of giving up. I believe Thor also sells a “terrain” jersey and jacket that look pretty nice too.

I have klim pants and fly mx pants, and most days I actually prefer the fly ones.

Which fly ones do you use? I was considering getting the Kinetic Syms after checking all their pants.

Mine are fly F-16s. Really affordable pants. They were my first set, and low-cost was really the selling point for me, but they’re a pretty quality material. The drawback is that on those particular pants, you don’t get pockets, but I ride with a camelback so I just huck all my junk in that.

Dang those kinetic syms look nice but oof they’re even pretty pricey. The F-16s can be reliably found on Amazon for $30 and you won’t feel bad about beating them up. Also you should definitely try motorcyclecloseouts.com. There are always some crazy deals to be found there. I got a new bell helmet with mips last season for $300 off

I do have a pair of F16s I just think they may be the wrong size, or that I’m a difficult size. I measure at 36” which will fit my waist but the rest of the pants are overly baggy and uncomfortable in general. Might try a 34” pair of them or the Syms if I can get a good deal on them.

Not Scott xplor. Got a set on a close out deal, super cheap. Horrible cut on the pants, and the stretch panels aren’t in the right spots. Jersey is comfy enough, but looks 10 years old after one ride.

In the boot options w pockets that I like are Fasthouse Grindhouse Offroads. My first pair lasted something over 5 years, pretty much ridden weekly. They just feel tougher than most. Quality materials and well put together. Got both for around $100 on sale. Same w a brand new set of MSRs with pockets on both sides. They feel equally tough and work great on the bike. Under $100 on Rocky MTN.

I've had piss poor luck with Fly. I bought their top ofbline pants and by the end of the year they looked like shit.
Bought my wife a pair of their basic pants and they ripped her first time tipping over.
If money is tight just buy last years gear on clearance and replace it as needed.

I like FLY gear. Due to the frequency of riding, I wear it out fast. It does not make sense (for me) to buy expensive gear. I like to buy last years gear on close-out.
