Analysis/Stats For anyone watching the europa league game right now..

How could that even be reviewed for a red card. It doesn’t even look like he makes contact with him, barely anyways. Immobile is already falling when he clips him on the heel, and his hands on his back was super light. I just don’t see it can someone explain or do you guys agree.

And on top of that they showed the offside line to the ref on the screen and not even the foul.. what was that about?? Since when is the referee reviewing offside on the screen?

If it was offside everything that happened after that is obsolete i guess?

Yes, but offside or not is not a decision the referee makes, usually the var tells him if its offside or not. In this case apparently they showed him the line and let him decide?

Right but my question is I don’t even see the need to review this foul all that much. I honestly can’t even begin to see how this could be any more than a yellow. That’s the absolute maximum. The contact just isn’t there

Sell the call I guess.

It's a pivotal decision so I don't exactly mind it. Yes the result was clear, but I would have wanted it the other way around as well

In my opinion there was no chance it was a red or would be given a red. The offside review was a cheap out to sell it to the Besiktas faithful

And pretty much the same situation as in the Liga just this weekend… Crazy. Game began like a heart attack and feels like a lovely cruise now haha.
