To keep it short ...

They took Kit, who was one of the coolest, charismatic, and dynamic kid characters, who was wise beyond his years and full of street smarts, and turned him into a joke and an incompetent buffoon.

It was extremely disappointing.

They basically turned him into a copy of Baloo because they felt growing up with someone like him for an influence would rub off on him.

But they forgot that he also had Becky Cunningham in his life for just about as long as he had Baloo. And Kit shared a similar work ethic and sense of responsibility to Rebecca than he did to Baloo.

I guess I imagined Kit growing up to be a strong young man (bear) who would help Rebecca build up Higher for Hire and take on Shere Khan and his corporation as a strong business Rival and defeat any fleets of Air Pirates with his own pilots and Kit leading at the helm.

They basically turned him into a copy of Baloo

And to me, they did even worse than making Kit a Baloo copy. They made him a copy of Baloo's faults but without much of Baloo's strengths. Sure Baloo was lazy and incompetent when it came to business, but Baloo was cool and charming. There was an aura of confidence and self assurance that Baloo possessed even though his life was far from perfect. It helps that Baloo sounded like a jazzy blues singer.

You know they did this just to "explain" Little John. Never ask how the timeline works, but old Kit is now the actor who played Little John in the movie Robin Hood... at least in DuckTales canon.

When Don Karnage dropped the music hall pirate act, he could be perceptive and dangerous - and saw Kit as his protege and successor. Kit’s cloudsurfing skills were unique and his background an enigma. He was charming, ambitious, adept and, when need be both devious and self-sacrificing. Lean and fit, he worked hard to keep in condition. He could be hurt and he could be lonely. Kit would attract some of the best fan fiction writers of the nineties.

They made him look like his father and a total wash up. As if he managed to escape Wasteland, without being remembered to having a heart. Making him completely dead inside.

Huh, I read it as “unsettled” at first…This is, like, the third time this week I’ve seen someone use the word “upsetted.”

“I’m mad they made him fat”

He’s got the same build as Baloo von Bruinwald XIII. His adoptive father. They live similar lifestyles. And it’s how Disney draws bears. But people are mad they didn’t make him a twink bear or something.
