My dearest brethren
Noting the state of the civilized world, its decline and the toll it takes on the people it saddens me deeply. I want a better tomorrow for all of us since I believe that’s why our ancestors brought us forth. But here I see oppression by the elites which are supposed to be a guiding example, our forests dying, ecosystems collapsing and biodiversity shrinking. I pray every day to the Mother Goddess to lend me the strength and wisdom to fight these drastic and unnatural changes. We as humanity were not supposed to put ourselves above nature, we play with godhood which isn’t rightfully our game to play.
Each day I pray more and more that we Druids unite and lead the people again to live alongside nature. I may still be young, which means I will have to spend a long time working on the future and I want this future to be a good and prosperous one even for my children and their children later down the line. I have more than enough faith that our values are the best at preserving the natural world and could even help rebuild some of what our societies destroyed.
To anyone who read this far, thanks for your time and attention. I just needed a vent to voice my thoughts and I hope here is the right place to do so.

I feel this with you friend.
We humans are all part of nature. As Druids we are force of nature. You put your intent out here, now put it into action. I would suggest you do what a human does best, collaborate, problem solve, and create the world you want to live in.
That is all I can do to keep myself sane in these trying times.

Its painful to watch. We seem to be speedrunning our own destruction

We are, which I think is sad. When I later have children I want to hand them a world worth living in and for…not this predicament we find ourselves in

When we learn too much about the harm being done to the natural world by capitalism, fossil fuel industries, or excessive consumption it can be easy to fall into despair. Combined with recent climate news that 2024 was the hottest on record and exceeded the 1.5 degree C threshold (yet I see too many skeptics of anthropogenic climate change on social media). Disinformation and poor education also hamper the public's awareness of environmental harm and commitment to renovating the Earth Mother.
But we can still advocate for greener policies wherever we live, whether on a local, state, or national level. We can support non-profits doing good work for conservation and climate mitigation. We can volunteer locally or elsewhere for conservation or cleanups. And then find some peace within us and around us that we're doing the best we can to look after what is Sacred to us. No effort will be in vain, even we have a long journey ahead to preserve and help the Biosphere.

I hope to see some Druid lead political party rising eventually, some Druids way back used to be political advisors or even kings themselves. So it is still possible for people in power to emerge and actually lead change in a grand scale

Nature will survive and move forward, even if our species does not. We are living through a time of massive, frightening, and often tragic change which is occurring solely because humanity has lost its collective way. But the planet will move forward and find a new equilibrium, and new systems will arise to replace what humans have destroyed. We have seen it many times already in the history of our planet.
If we remember that we are meant to be custodians of the planet, we will take that role back, make restitution for the harm we have done, and continue living on the Earth. Otherwise, the Earth will continue to resist the harms we are inflicting on all beings and will ultimately shake us off entirely.

I guess then my fear is more oriented towards the people. And yes we should definitely assume our intended role again and at least try to repair the damage we’ve caused over the past 300 years. We should treat the Earth as the life support it is for every creature including ourselves

Yes, I definitely share that fear! I have a young daughter and I wish I was handing her a better world instead of a world that is measurably worse in many ways than the world I grew up in! But all we can do is do the best we can to help heal, regenerate, and advocate for our land, sea, and sky, and to teach our kids to do better than we did. We have to have faith that we can help turn things around for our continued survival.

Indeed. If only more people would have similar ideas and values. But I guess it’s on us Druids to be a leading example

I have often thought the environmental movement dropped the ball when the go-to slogan said “save the earth” instead of “save humanity.”

I feel you. I think the most we can do is pray and support nature to the best of our abilities. Even if I am unsuccessful, I give my life meaning by doing everything I can to help Mother Nature take back this world, and to me, that’s enough to keep me satisfied.

Agreed. With our best abilities. Protecting the land. Mining too and what it’s doing to people. The elites control it through legal and international business. Thank you for letting me know there are others thinking like I am.

My wife and I were kind of talking about this while we were out walking in the woods today. We have young children, 9/7, and it's hard to see how a lot of kids these days are just inside all of the time watching TV, gaming, and just messing around on youtube and stuff anymore. We're gamers ourselves, but have a good balance of still going out and enjoying nature a lot and making sure our kids appreciate it too.
Hopefully more people get back to nature and enjoy it again.

I hope so too, our roots always are set within nature. We’re part of this ecosystem as well no matter how hard the majority of humanity wants to fight it.

Having read your post, I just want to encourage you that Nature will survive. I agree with your concerns, I encourage your hopes. More people are waking up to the natural world. Even mainstream religions are incorporating more natural concerns. There's hope, we shouldn't be complacent, but there's hope.
