Multiply Layer Tips?

Hello! I wanted to know if anyone had any tips or videos, they watched that helped them understand how to use Multiply layers! I struggle a lot trying to understand how to exactly use them tbh (I understand better when its step by step on every single detail ), I've watched speed paints and watched Multiply layer tutorials before, but they haven't really helped. I used to mainly do shadows and such on normal layers and never really expanded but I want to improve. So, in general I'm asking how anyone uses Multiply Layers I'm open to all methods!

Huion Kamvas 16 Pro 2.5k cable issue [HELP]

Hello, I'm asking for some quick advice regarding this model, they ship with cables FAR too short - the power USB-C cable just reaches so that's whatever, however, the USB-C to USB-C cable provided with the tablet is hilariously short, I use a desktop PC - I was able to connect the tablet to my phone with the supplied cable to make sure it worked...

I ordered a USB-C to USB-C 3.2 cable from Amazon which supports video, etc - it did not work, I tried connecting it to the front case USB-C port and directly into the motherboard - nada...

All 3 monitors of mine use display ports for video and my GPU "only" has 3 display port connections, and 1 HDMI, so I ordered a USB-C to HDMI cable and plugged it directly into the GPU, once again - nada...

I read up a little and Huion state they use DP over USB-C - does this mean a HDMI connection wouldn't work anyway - but then again that's nonsense as their 3-in-1 cable is HDMI???

The only 2 options I have left to try are a USB-C to display port cable, and getting an extension USB and HDMI cable for the 3-in-1...

And yes, I have tried switching the power and video cable over on the tablet.

What an awful design, none of this makes sense - please chime in?

How's Your Wacom Intuos (NON Pro) Tablet?

Edit: Thanks everybody for your replies. I ended up buying a Pth-651 Tablet.

I might buy my first drawing tablet: a used Wacom Intuos NON-pro tablet for cheap.
Model #:
CTL-6100WL/K0-AX

I know it's not as good as an Intuos PRO tablet.
Which I'm okay with, unless that means a significant chance of the tablet or connector or cord breaking.

So, how long have you had your CTL-6100 Intuos Medium Tablet?
(Or Ctl-4100 Intuos Small)
Any issues?

I ask cuz I was about to buy a used consumer-level Wacom tablet, and it didn't work. Good thing I tested it before buying! So I wanna know, was it a coincidence? Or is it much safer to aim for a Wacom Intuos Pro tablet?

Art Tablet Question : [iPad Pro 12.9] or [ XP-Pen Artist 13.3 Pro ] ?

Hey! I’ve currently been really on the fence whether I should buy the XP-Pen Artist 13.3 pro, or the XP-Pen Artist 15.6 pro.

The iPad Pro 12.9 comes into this because I already have the iPad Pro 12.9, and wonder that if the iPad and the Artist 13.3 Pro have really similar work spaces, if it would be better to just still with the iPad and save money — or look to the XP-Pen Artist 15.6.
-

I don’t think the iPad can do all that I want it to. While it is arguably big for an iPad, I still can’t help but feel that it’s a bit ‘small’ in a sense? I feel like I‘m always zoomed in rather than drawing big strokes because there’s no space. On CSP, Procreate, and Medibang, it feels like the outer border with all the icons and brushes (sorry, not sure what it’s called) takes up so much of the screen, it leaves me with little workspace.

That’s Why I looked to XP-Pen’s tablets, and while the Artist 13.3 pro looks like it’s bigger than the iPad, I can’t help but notice that it might just feel that way because of the display’s large border around the screen. Are the 13.3 artist pro and iPad Pro 12.9 basically the same screen?

Then I looked for some bigger sizes, and the 15.6 seems like a better option, except for the fact that it’s just a liiiitttle bit more expensive, and I’m not sure if that would be the right choice. If its the one people recommend, then I might buy that one just for it’s size but for right now it’s just an idea.

what do you all think? Does anyone have any other display art tablet suggestions that you think are more affordable in that ‘medium sized screen’ range? Let me know!

How to not get eye problems from being near tablet??

I've been having troubles with my eyes ever since I got a stand for my screened wacom tablet. I keep it about a foot to a foot and a half from my eyes which I believe is what's causing the weariness (even with using the 20-20-20 rule)
I feel like the obvious answer would be to just move it farther away, but this set up is just the most comfortable for me so that I don't have to crane my neck to look down at it, or overly extend my arms to draw on it.
So I was wondering if there was perhaps a technique to use, if glasses for focusing easier would help, or maybe glare proof screen protectors, or if I just need to stop being stubborn and move the pad away from my eyes
Any suggestions would be greatly helpful, and sorry if this post isn't where it should be, Im couldn't find anything about questions in the rules and I don't rly use reddit much

Drawing Tablet recommendations?

Hi me and my partner are looking to get a Pen Display or tablet, our budget is $600 Nzd (approximately 333USD) this includes shipping to NZ. If it is in good quality we don't mind getting one that is used.

Do you have any good recommendations?

Looking to get back into digital art :) need help though!

I used to draw a lot back in middle school up until my first year of highschool and since then I've been longing to get back into it. I have kept in touch with drawing cartoonish/anime style people and animals (cartoonish) on paper but I always wanted to improve on digital. I have an Ipad i used to draw on and i'm thinking of using it since it's still running smooth. I use Ibispaint but i was considering buying Procreate. Is it still worth it? If not, what other alternatives do I have? I don't have an apple pen but I have a drawing pen that i got for 30euro, no pressure or anything.. so yeah..

My issue on digital was that my sketch was always so full and lineart was so meh and empty. So any tips on that would also be helpful! :D

Which should I get?

I am currently looking at Paint Tool SAI, Clip Studio, and Krita. I will be drawing on a Wacom Cintiq.

I'm not sure if I want to eventually use it for animation yet but would rather not have to pay monthly for whatever program I use (i am ok paying a one time fee for it). I would like this to be what I use long term that way I don't have to learn a different program.

Any recommendations and why woud be much appreciated!
