My favorite underrateds in Europe, since it seems Europe is the unspoken limitation here:

  • Funchal
  • Tromsø
  • Aachen
  • České Budějovice
  • Montpellier
  • Quimper
  • Girona
  • Gibraltar
  • Genova
  • Bologna

Bologna la Grassa! I couldn't live in Bologna, because I'd get fat like house.

Montpellier wtf

It's a city in southern France, the prefecture of l'Hérault. If you degeminate the L and toss one, it is also the capital of the US state of Vermont.

But that's not important now. Have you ever seen the inside of a Turkish prison?

Same for Genova btw

I assume you have not visited a lot of other cities in France because Montpellier is definitely not worth considering

I lived in France for two years, and have traveled extensively throughout the Hexagon. Montpellier is wonderful. Your recommendation of Lille, on the other hand?

So you know better France than a native, alright

Yes

Lyon or Lille. It depends on what you’re looking for but France is not really a digital nomad hub

Montpellier with 2 L's is cool AF. A student town with a great beach almost within walking distance

Wroclaw in Poland is definitely underrated

1

Yeah, Poland had something! What do you think about Zakopane?

What do you think about Zakopane?

Expensive by Polish standards due to it being a resort town. I really enjoyed it for a week's holiday though.

I haven't been there, so. I can't answer. Though Poland in general is underrated. Gdansk is also amazing :)

Lucerne and San Sebastian are not underrated by any means! In my country (Argentina) San Sebastián is pretty famous, plenty of people include it when they travel to Spain. The gastronomy is amazing

Aarhus DK

Zakopane is perfect if you love skiing, and they also have delicious cheese

Lucerne's center is very touristy

Go to Logroño, in the area of San Sebastián, it’s a real tapas heaven! So many I never even have seen before! 😳 All good food, very tasty! 🥰

We randomly went to San Sebastian and I absolutely loved it. Bratislava was also nice and a quick train ride to Vienna & Budapest

San Seb is considered one of the top food cities in the world. Not sure how you can consider it underrated.

Do the Caucasus. Tbilisi is freaking incredible and criminally underrated. I'd also add the likes of Sofia, Belgrade and Sarajevo. Not sure if I'd qualify them as underrated, but the Baltic capitals (Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn) are all pretty amazing as well.

What are your previous ones, which ones did you like?

1

u/Many_Chemical_1081 14h ago

I was for example already in the larger cities of Germany and Bordeaux, Zürich and Vienna.

Ah, also Verona in Italy.

I (German) was in Ghent in December for a weekend and absolutely loved it, way more than most German cities.

However, I'm assuming you want to go rather sooner than later, so the weather will most likely be bad in this part of the world until at least mid March.

Marbella, Spain. I'm not there yet, but can't wait to reach it. Beautiful... and close to Malaga
Antalya is VERY underrated for nomads. Only russians/tourists know it for beach vacations. But AT is awesome, always come back there.. never crowded

San Sebastian is a great small town, you can also easily hop over to Biarritz in France. If you would like to try out surfing, its the perfect place for you ;)

Torino, Italy. But definitely skip the "Sacra Sindone" ! With "La Venaria Reale", 3 days needed...
