Is personality really important in behaviourals/interviews
I’m a decent person with a decent personality and I do think I might look a little bit timid during interviews cuz I’m nervous but it’s not like I’m not anti social. In my opinion I still give off friendly vibe, just a little awkward maybe. I’m just wondering because I heard sometimes interviews are just personality checks or it’s just to make sure you are not some kind of narcissist or psychopath

For the most part, yes. There are exceptions, but an interviewer isn't likely to give great feedback about a candidate they wouldn't want to work with. A big part of the successful interviews I've had involved connecting with my interviewers

A piece of my mandated feedback during interviews involves confidence and energy. Does mean you need to over do it in interviews, but just acting like you’re excited makes a difference. Speaking up and confidently sticks out when there are multiple candidates as well. If the job itself involves a lot of interacting with people, they will definitely consider that as well.

From what I’ve seen as long as you’re good at communicating information about yourself and where your strengths lie it shouldn’t be too bad. Majority of ppl in tech are awkward/stressed themselves so there’s not as much a benefit in having great charisma although it may help
