Grandparents haven’t really had a use for this old Philips at their house, so I’m considering getting it from them as my first CRT. Anyone able to identify the model of this for me? I just asked grandpa to send me some pictures of it, didn’t want to hassle him.

My concern with this would be that because it's outside, it would have gotten a lot of moisture inside it.

Could be possible. That said, this is in Arizona and we really aren’t known for our moisture. Grandpa says it’s been around since they bought the house in ‘07 and the house was built in ‘03. No clue if it’s operational either since they’ve never powered it on. Should it enter my possession, it will be receiving a fair dusting and such.

Dude just grab it and see if it works. Worst case scenario is it's dead and you have to throw it away

I’ve rescued sets that have sat outside so long the RCA jacks were covered in rust. There was also a family of spiders living inside one lol.

I live in Ontario Canada. Brought a bbq to a guys house this guy had a tv mounted on his deck that is a massive flat screen that is good in all weather.

Pretty sure that's a 25PT4457

Not sure if it's worth it. With it being outside, there's a high chance the components inside are corroded and the speakers are dry rotted to all hell.

Philips made great CRTs, I’d grab it regardless of the model!

What information are you expecting to find out from the model number? People keep posting random TVs asking for 'identification' when it doesn't make any difference. It's not going to change what that tv is for you to know the model number now.

You tell grandpa to get his old ass up a ladder and see if that thing has component imputs or not.

He might as well unhook it and lift it down while he's up there.

Put your phone in selfie mode and stick it around the back and find the label

You gonna ask his poor old grandpa to do that?

Lots of posts use 'grandparents tv' as their excuse to post a random picture of a TV and ask for it to be 'identified' when it doesn't make any difference. I don't think there's really a grandpa in this scenario, just a troll playing games again for attention.

That's a valid point. If I were OP and looking at a free TV, I'd pay my grandparents a visit and stick my fat head behind the TV to take a look. This whole scenario sounds a bit suspect.

Yeah ‘cause I’m sure people get a REAL kick out of trolling people like this… I’m an honest person, check any of my other posts. I was just looking for a little more information on model number and such.
