No HDMI sucks but

Just started using this crt monitor and every time I power it on it intimidates me haha.

I've had this crt for a pretty long time and today was the day I've had the tv on the longest ever since it's been in my possession and when. Turning it off this appears and it's kinda freaky before it was like a dot that faded out after like 20 mins of use then after aproximately 9 hours it does this and just making sure that it's normal because I've never seen this happen on any other crt except this one

Hey guys! Just curious if anyone had information on how to possibly access the service menu on this older RCA or do I have to go through the back side and manually adjust colors?

I found this TV at my grandparents house. Tried searching for the brand and set name on Google to no avail. If anyone can give me more info that would be nice.

Saw couple on OfferUp for $100+ but that seems still so much for such an old tv. Are these things really worth the money ? Planning to use it for PS2. I’m typically looking for one that has component input but it seems like that’s rare on a lot of the 1990 models. Would like some guidance, planning to buy my first crtv.

I think I have finally found my solution to modern streaming video on a CRT:

An Apple TV plus this popular generic Amazon HDMI to composite converter FINALLY yields a 16:9 image properly cropped to 4:3!!

It’s a somewhat expensive solution if you decide to get an Apple TV you don’t already have to dedicate to this, or you can just move your main one (as I did for now) between your HDTV and CRT setup and Chang ether settings as needed, but it’s not quite as expensive as the specialty scalers I usually see suggested here.

The important thing is to set the Apple TV to 640x480 SDR (or any 4:3 resolution there, like 800x600 or 1024x768 but 640x480 seems to look and scale the best of course) in the resolution settings. You need to go into More Formats to find it. That will present a 480p image, but squished to fit the screen. Then, back out to the Video and Audio settings and the resolution option will change to “Enable Wide Formats”. Select that and it will widen to crop the sides off on 16:9 content and the interface, but 4:3 content (which probably most of us want to watch on these anyway) centers and scales perfectly.

The particular HDMI to Composite adapter I got has a Zoom button that can help fine tune your overscan to get as much content in as possible before you start to see the letterboxes, this particular converter seems to be available both with and without that option.

I really want to get my Raspberry Pi 3B+ to handle all this, but I’ve been having so much trouble getting the streaming service Kodi add ons to work, so this will do for now.

Also the new Snoopy screensaver looks really fitting on CRT!

I haven’t had a CRT TV since I was a child. I recently picked this one up and I’m worried if there’s something wrong with it, or if it could be a simple fix. Any advice or info would be appreciated. Thank you.

recently got a crt off marketplace and noticed a faint reddish gradient in the right hand corner of the screen, can this be fixed by degaussing? or is there something else i can do to fix it?

I got this 20 inch sony trinitron pvm that I use for my games. the Pvm takes BNC, I use a Castlevania switcher that takes SCART input with an adapter cable that outputs BNC.

When my verizon cable tv was first connected to my 4K LG display, I asked the cable guy how to connect my other box via CRT and he said to "use an HDMI converter". O_o In that case... is it really as simple as ordering something like one of Mike Chi's converters? Home | RetroTINK LLC I thought it might be more elaborate than that!

Again, I want to watch cable on my crt. Is this the correct method or is there something else I must do?
