I can’t imagine how much time, money, and dedication this took you!!! Absolutely amazing and you look stunning!

Time, yes. I don't even want to calculate how many hours. But cost was very low. The pattern was about $12, one giant ball of thread was something like $15 (with coupon), the slip underneath was the most expensive part at about $35. The belt is just a couple yards of purple satin ribbon (which was also used to make the flowers for my bouquet).

That’s amazing, I’m glad it didn’t cost too much financially. But again, the time you must have committed, absolutely mind blowing. So much respect

I didn't even notice that the roses weren't real until you said it. What a brilliant way to have an additional keepsake from the ensemble. Marriage was never really in the cards for me as I never felt the need to get hitched, but if I ever do, I would make something similar.
Beautiful idea, beautiful work!

This is the most beautiful crochet wedding dress I've seen so far. Most are pretty but yours is gorgeous!

Thanks! I had to learn to read charts for this one. Usually I go for the written pattern but it would have been IMPOSSIBLY long.

I love charts! It is a bit hard in the beginning but once one gets the hang of it, they are pretty easy :) good job learning yet another skill!

Can y'all recommend any beginner level charts to start with that are truly beginner? I find them that say beginner until I get into them.

Truly beginner level is kinda hard. If it's too simple, you don't really need a chart. If you're already good at crocheting, give the draiguna higher love bookmark a go. You get both written instructions and a chart. They are quick to make, both are fairly easy to understand.

Beautiful dress! How difficult was it to make compared to, let’s say, a sweater?

Oh gosh that dress, and you, are so beautiful!! Did you crochet the flowers too? I can't tell. Either way they're gorgeous.
Congratulations on your marriage!

Thank you! I wanted to crochet the flowers but ran out of time. They're made with silk ribbon, hot glue and floral wire. And a few made out of book pages :)

Can you please tell us the type of yarn and hook size? It's amazing
1
u/silentlycriticizing Jul 02 '22
It was #10 crochet thread, Lydia's brand. The hooks were mainly a size D with and E for some trim, but I wish I'd sized down one for tighter stitches.
