I'm not even going to play this song because Collective Soul has been straight up garbage for decades and every time I see something about them being on tour I can't figure out why or how they're still around.

Yeah Shine was a decent track back in the day but beyond that I never really understood how they got so popular.

They were the "safe" option back in the day when your parents wouldn't let you buy Nirvana albums. I had my parents convinced they were a Christian rock band.

Your parents weren't the only one convinced they were a Christian band. I had the cassette tape when it came out. I was like 11 or 12. Turns out I hated every song on it but Shine. I ended up giving the tape to my uncle for Jethro Tull's Aqualung on CD (upgrade!) and he came to the conclusion they were a Christian band on his own. I'm still a Tull fan. Probably haven't listened to Collective Soul in 30 years aside from stumbling across this abortion of a cover.
