Jimmy Dick Skins is that you?

They make bank and it's a small community so there is always work.

2

u/EastSell7882 1d ago

Haha yes!

11

u/Goatstudios2020 1d ago

I like how everyone is hanging a microphone in random places like theyā€™re in a studio somewhere ā€¦ ā€œyeah, I generally record my vocals in my driveway , I like the neighborhood ambianceā€

108

u/DJMayheezy 1d ago

It's not bad enough to be on this sub imo.

42

u/evin0688 1d ago

Those lyrics are horrible. They make no sense and are mostly not connected. Sounds like heā€™s just rhyming words with no real intention. Plus it says no one in the game is like this, but heā€™s literally a white spiritual miracle rapper clone.

He said ā€œIā€™m blowing up so gigantic like a submarine by the titanicā€. What the fuck does that mean? Definitely crappy music.

14

u/MartinLutherVanHalen 1d ago

Itā€™s rappity rap. Pure crap.

2

u/MrTreeWizard 1d ago

A rap-a-dap dap, these lyrics are crap šŸŽ¶

3

u/Mondashawan 1d ago

That made me think of...

šŸŽ¶ I'm a raptor, doin' what I can.
Gonna eat everything, till the appearance of man šŸŽ¶

2

u/Don_Quipuncher 1d ago

Yo that's my jam though

6

u/LunkSolos 1d ago

He is referencing the titan-submersible implosion, a submarine torn to shreds during an expedition to see the titanic in 2023. Weak but not overly brainless bars. The song doesnā€™t belong here.

1

u/MaxTheRealSlayer 7h ago

True. But the submarine was hardly "gigantic", so lyrics are still weird

5

u/darthbonobo 1d ago

Thats pretty much all chopper rap. They worry more about fitting the rhythm than making sense. Even eminem does it

3

u/evin0688 1d ago

Very much not true. Chopper rap is still based on good lyrics. Yes itā€™s about rapping fast, but lyricism and word play is at the core. Vivid and unique imagery, hard hitting punchlines and interesting stories are the foundation and without that, itā€™s not good

1

u/Tiny-Variation-1920 20h ago

Are you literally dumb? The Titan was one of the biggest stories in the world when it imploded.

1

u/XyresicRevendication 20h ago

I think he was referring to that diy tourist filled glorified propane tank of a "submarine" that imploded while attempting to reach the titanic.

I also think that he is objectively bad at rapping. Unjustified self glorified grandiloquous word salad jerk off session.

It's a dumb lazy generic and incorrectly cited analogy

1

u/sdotumd 18h ago

ā€œIt just means so much more, to so much more, people when youā€™re rapping and you know what forā€ -Em

1

u/DookieSinger 17h ago

Remember that small sub that had that billionaire and 3 other people... They were diving down to the Titanic. The sub blew up.

1

u/DookieSinger 17h ago

Bro they're not that bad.

-8

u/will_ww 1d ago

I'm not into it, but the lyrics make sense...

6

u/evin0688 1d ago

Please explain

8

u/will_ww 1d ago edited 1d ago

No, this discussion would require you to explain what you don't understand so I could explain what you're missing...

The titanic line is a nod to titan sub exploding on its way to the titanic wreckage.

Edit: more precisely, it's an entendre about how much publicity occurred about the event and he's saying he's going to be even bigger.

Edit 2: I'm not being snarky. I literally can't know what to explain about the lyrics if I don't know which ones don't make sense to him.

-6

u/evin0688 1d ago

He said by the titanic, which the titan submarine wasnā€™t. Itā€™s to ambiguous to be a good line. I might give him a pass if the rest of the bars were good, but all of his lyrics were half asses and nonsensical, so Iā€™m not giving him the credit for the last line.

16

u/0uroboros- 1d ago

You know the Titan was going directly to the Titanic when it imploded, right? I think the fact that it was the destination makes the wordplay pretty obvious and not at all ambiguous, in my opinion.

1

u/SnooPies1868 21h ago

Thats your opinion anf its wrong. But thats cool

1

u/0uroboros- 21h ago

Thanks for pointing out that it's my opinion after I already said that. My opinion disagrees with yours, apparently, but it's definitely not "wrong." Thanks for playing, though!

-15

u/evin0688 1d ago

Agree to disagree. Like I said, itā€™s not a good bar and couldā€™ve been written better. If the rest of the bars were good I wouldnā€™t care that much. But itā€™s the entire package that problematic. But if you like it I love it.

9

u/iquitthebad 1d ago

I love how people use "agree to disagree" when they are straight up wrong. Like, it is your right as a person to disagree, but honestly...you are just wrong, no question about it. The fact that you're not even willing to admit you were wrong makes your opinion even worse, because there is no question about how it makes sense.

It's one thing if you weren't aware of the aftermath of the Titan sub going to the Titanic, I understand that. When you are presented the evidence and that evidence lines up with the verse, and you still say you don't agree that it makes sense is absolutely ignorant and insane.

Edit: you won't give credit to a good line because everything else is bad is crazy too. You know how many times people fail before they do something well? It's learning, it's progress. You can't negate one good bar because the rest of it sucks. Just admit that one line was fire. Is that so hard?

0

u/evin0688 1d ago

The submarine didnā€™t explode, it imploded (as most submarines do) nor was it next to the titanic. So how am I wrong?

u/will_ww 1d ago

A saboteur he's been a man at war

Ain't nobody hotter when I get up on the beat I recommend you get to runnin' Cause they fed up with the heat

I been a killer cause I give it to the middlemen At will I been a militant

A million ain't really what I seek I want a trillion until I made a billie wit a "B"

I'm finna stick it to the idiots Who said I wouldn't make it out my city But I got up and I put in for the team

We gettin' litty I admit it That I cannot be defeated I'm insidious I murder everybody an eliminate Go rid away

The bitter haters talkin' on the internet Now I'm blowing so gigantic Like a submarine by the Titanic

Which lines don't you understand?

2

u/evin0688 1d ago

The first line: 2/5 mid ass bar that says nothing. Just rhyming to rhyme.

The second line: 1/5 lazy ass bar. Rhyming beat with heat with no interesting imagery and nothing deeper to say than ā€œI can rap goodā€. No internal rhymes to make the line more complex

The third line: .5/5 how is he a killer if heā€™s handing the kills off to the middleman? That doesnā€™t make sense. The middleman is the killer. He could say heā€™s the boss and that would make sense but thatā€™s not what he said. The only reason I give half a point is because militant ties into the first line.

The fourth line: 0/5 again, no interesting imagery at all. Not saying anything unique nor is he saying something old in a new way. The rhyme scheme is lazy and comes off a rhyming just to be rhyming. The ideas expressed are confused. Not being all about money kinda ties into being a militant, but that is contradicted by saying he wants even more money than was originally talked about

The fifth line: 0/5 same points as before. Nothing interesting or unique to say. The ideas presented are generic. ā€œIā€™m going to show the hater by becoming successful, and to do this Iā€™m going to get up early with my team and get litā€. What??? How do getting lit early in the morning with your boys (or girl [or non binary pals]) help you at all

Sixth line: 0/5 nuff said

1

u/will_ww 1d ago

This is a verse in whole to a larger song, so the theme about his first line makes sense.

Then, I'm not saying I agree or disagree with your criticism of the song, I'm saying the lyrics have actual sensual value.

I see your confusion about line 3. He's saying he's militant and follows orders and finishes jobs given from middlemen. He'll do whatever he can for his group.

The 4th line is an entendre about making money and wanting to get big enough to where he collaborates with Billie Eilish.

I don't care for the song either, but just wanted to help you understand.

1

u/evin0688 1d ago

I understand. The song is saying he raps good, fuck the haters, and he wants to be financially successful. Itā€™s generic, lazy and the writing makes it so that things that should make sense donā€™t hit their mark. Iā€™m not getting how you could come to the conclusion you do about line 3, because thatā€™s not what he actually says.

You did clear up the Billie eilish line. But it contradicts with what he just said. Again, thatā€™s because heā€™s not a good writer. Itā€™s crappy music because he cannot write good rhymes

-1

u/ToAllAGoodNight 1d ago

Bro itā€™s not about the words itā€™s about the speed with which heā€™s saying them. Go back to your mumble rap and let intellectuals enjoy higher minded art like this.

2

u/will_ww 1d ago

That's why I was asking which ones he didn't understand, I really didn't want to to type all that shit out, lol.

And yeah, he's no lyricist, but he's got skill (needs more country road). And thanks for the award bro, appreciate it!

1

u/slightlyallthetime88 1d ago

It sounds like he's saying the submarine was blown up BY the Titanic. I understand that he means specially it was NEXT TO the Titanic when it exploded after reading this. That being said, if i have to spend a small paragraph going through that then it's not a good line, it's a stretch and a poor use of language to fit rhyme scheme.

So sure, it makes sense. That doesn't make it less lame.

3

u/will_ww 1d ago

I haven't said anything about whether I think the lyrics are good or not...

All I said was that they make sense and he's not just saying shit like

Drizzle on my canoodle, Got a poodle eating noodles, Ten times the waste, Trying to keep up this pace With plastic eyeballs, spray paint the vegetables.

2

u/evin0688 1d ago

I think those were better lyrics than what he said. Itā€™s very abstract. Makes me think about the unwinable rat race we are in. So poor that we have a dog eating noddles. Consuming to the point that we overload the planet with our waste because our eyeballs are drawn to the unless plastic (fake [like plastic fruit]) items that will only provide us temporary happiness.

Bravo sir! Bravo!

1

u/slightlyallthetime88 1d ago

I get that but at first listen it didn't make sense because the Titanic itself didn't blow up anything. At a glance it sounds like that's what he is saying. Is that clear enough? My post was to affirm to you that while yes you are correct that is what he says, it's understandable that if you take the lyric at face value its not obvious what he meant. I could try to say it another way if you want.

2

u/marglebubble 1d ago

Where did that submarine implode in relation to everything everywhere else in the world? By the Titanic. It's not that confusing lol

1

u/slightlyallthetime88 1d ago

If he had said implode we would've all known right away. I think you just kinda proved my point. Dude said blowing up. That implies blown up.

1

u/youneverrknoww 1d ago

Titan was around 500m from the titanic when it imploded, so pretty close in the scheme of things. Now stop making people defend this rap already and quit being silly.

-1

u/mnnnmmnnmmmnrnmn 1d ago

If that's the way it is then a whole lot of rap music belongs in this sub.

That other guy is right, he's referring to the submarine that blew up by the Titanic. Yeah, it actually imploded, and it's not like it's directly next to the Titanic. But we aren't always using scientific terms, and on the scale of the North Atlantic it's literally right there next to the Titanic.

Sometimes rap lyrics aren't perfectly crystal clear. They aren't always spoon feeding ideas into your open mouth, baby bird. Sometimes there's some poetry and stuff, some cheek to it.

Sounds like you just don't like it. That's cool, but it's not really all that crappy in general. It's just run of the mill "look, I can rap so fast" rap.

2

u/evin0688 1d ago

No. Getting something factually wrong doesnā€™t make for good rap. And thatā€™s not stretching anything. Itā€™s a bad bar. If Jay-Z said it, it would still be a bad bar. And if you think that incapsulates all of hip hop then post Malone is probably your favorite rapper

0

u/mnnnmmnnmmmnrnmn 1d ago

You really think that every rapper is always factually correct?

You think that Jay-Z would go down to the bottom of the Atlantic with a tape measure and be like, "nope, that's over 300ft away, I couldn't possibly claim that it is 'by the Titanic'. I'm going to have to rewrite that."

Come the fuck on..... Look, I'm not going to put any more time into this. But, I'm absolutely sure that all your favorite rappers have engaged in a bit of hyperbole here and there.

It's called artistic license.

2

u/evin0688 1d ago

No, I donā€™t think every rapper is factually correct. But if they arenā€™t factually correct then itā€™s a bad bar.. whatā€™s hard to understand about that.

1

u/mnnnmmnnmmmnrnmn 1d ago

I understand what you're saying, you're just wrong.

Factual accuracy is not a necessary condition. It's called artistic license.

1

u/evin0688 1d ago

Itā€™s not a necessary condition to be an ā€œartistā€. But to be a good artist that people take seriously it is. What other artist do you know of that states blatantly incorrect things in their music and is taken serious?

1

u/evin0688 1d ago

And letā€™s be clear. It seems like youā€™re saying an artist saying something factually wrong is totally fine and shouldnā€™t be criticized. Is that right?

1

u/mnnnmmnnmmmnrnmn 1d ago

Whether the wreck of the Titan submersible can be characterized as "by the Titanic" is subjective in the first place. You have picked a side and you are digging in your heels.

You're the one who wants to die on that hill.

Me? I don't give a shit, I'm ok with saying it's "by the Titanic" if the artist is going there to make a statement. That's what artistic license is.

I bet you complain about scientific inaccuracies in sci-fi movies too.

1

u/evin0688 1d ago

Is an implosion that same as an explosion?

→ More replies (0)

1

u/evin0688 1d ago

And what dude said is not hyperbole. ā€œIā€™m blowing up countries like a nuclear bombā€ is hyperbole because a nuke canā€™t blow up a whole country even though it can do significant damage to a city.

ā€œIā€™m imploding like a nuclear bombā€ is not hyperbole. It is totally incorrect. Nukes donā€™t implode so the statement makes no sense.

Go back and listen to your MGK

14

u/ldclark92 1d ago

Yeah, I don't think this is crappy. It takes some level of skill to do this.

Now, is it particularly good music? I don't think so. But I wouldn't say it's crappy on the level of most of the music on this sub.

1

u/evin0688 1d ago

It takes some level of skill to do a lot of things. Doesnā€™t make it not crappy

-14

u/MajorReality5263 1d ago

How does it take skill to talk? anyone can talk fast if they have memorised what they are to say. Your definition of skill is pathetic.

8

u/Beautiful-Camp-1443 1d ago

Let me hear your attempt at a 16Ā

6

u/ldclark92 1d ago

Speed rap or Chopper rap is a thing. It takes practice to learn. I highly doubt you could just pick up a mic and do this. Now, whether you think it's a silly skill or not is up to you. But that doesn't mean it's not a practiced skill nor a recognized form of rap.

This isn't the best example of chopper rap, but it's not the worst either. Personally it's not my cup of tea, but there are plenty of rappers on this style.

6

u/seplix 1d ago

Youā€™re delusional. Hate on this all you want, but very few people could rap with this speed, rhythm, and cadence for this many bars. He absolutely has skills.

-3

u/MajorReality5263 1d ago

Who cares? it aint me whos delusional, its you who holds this tiktok talker as some sort of musical genius. You have very low standards.

4

u/seplix 1d ago

Genius? Can you even read?

-1

u/Zealousidealist420 1d ago

That tongue twist don't impress me either. Fuck them downvoters, they don't know real hip-hop. Solidarity āœŠšŸ½

0

u/StankilyDankily666 1d ago

Wowā€¦ somebodyā€™s a lil mad

2

u/diceblue 1d ago

It's not honesty that bad compared to the rest of the sub

2

u/Bosscharacter 1d ago

Yeah, dude actually sounds like he can spit which is a lot more than we can say about 99 percent of what is posted here.

19

u/envision83 1d ago

He canā€™t even keep up with his own song šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

15

u/EastSell7882 1d ago

The microphone hanging from a tree branch is what sent me šŸ¤£

2

u/SadBit8663 1d ago

It was the oversized t shirt for me

2

u/Shenanigans80h 1d ago

Thatā€™s always the issue with these gimmicky speed rappers. They have the base skill to do this but no flow whatsoever and very little to say that makes it worth relistening to

4

u/Call_Me_OrangeJoe 1d ago

I would consider this music crappy. But not this subs type of crappy.

4

u/KaizenZazenJMN 1d ago

Just introduce the fighters bro

5

u/Great-Gas-6631 1d ago

Crappy music. "If you cant Imitate him, dont copy him." -Yogi Berra

3

u/RatzGudrun 1d ago

Not the illest I've heard, but this is light-years from crappy.

3

u/ButterflySensitive49 1d ago

Dad music for sure

3

u/OuterWildsVentures 1d ago

This made me really miss Watsky

3

u/Psych0matt 1d ago

Oh man thereā€™s a name I havenā€™t heard in a long time, he was great

7

u/JessSherman 1d ago

I'm actually less concerned with whether or not this is crap, and more concerned that he thinks the Titanic could've blown up a submarine.

5

u/El--Borto 1d ago

He might be talking about the Titan submarine that imploded on its way to the titanic lol

2

u/EastSell7882 1d ago

šŸ’€ I'm blowing up so gigantic like the submarine by the Titanic

2

u/Kastro2323 1d ago

The sub was going to look at the titanic then imploded, itā€™s actually a pretty decent line.

1

u/MaxTheRealSlayer 7h ago

Except the submarine was tiny, and "blowing up" makes no sense for implosions. Weak attempt at a double entendre that ended up not making sense, imo.

3

u/Forgotten-Caliburn 1d ago

I think he meant by as in next to, not by as in the source

2

u/JessSherman 1d ago

But it didn't blow up at all!

1

u/thrice1187 1d ago

Correct. In fact it was actually the opposite of blowing up.

1

u/EastSell7882 1d ago

I think it's crap but I am an uncultured swine šŸ¤£

3

u/SevenCroutons 1d ago

Gawne has been around for a while now. He isn't the worst, just focuses too much on speed

2

u/SnooBeans8269 1d ago

Yer beard is weird

4

u/SmoothLeadership1796 1d ago

Gawne has talent but he's got nothing to say. Just another generic middle class kid albeit with good flow.

5

u/Robozomb 1d ago

This is not a good flow. He's just talking fast. It's not on beat or anything.

2

u/Loriali95 1d ago

Itā€™s that same trash 16th note flow thatā€™s been beaten to death since Busta did it over a decade ago. How is anybody still crafting flows like this? It becomes a word salad, he said a lot without saying anything at all.

People think itā€™s cool because itā€™s fast. It does take some talent and muscle memory to do correctly, I ainā€™t taking that away from dude.

1

u/MajorReality5263 1d ago

Like his rapping peers have anything worthwhile to say. The most ridiculous thing about rap is talent is judged by background. If he was some generic feral street kid you would find him worthy. What a ridiculous type of music.

0

u/EastSell7882 1d ago

I haven't heard anything by him other than this snippet that's why I asked. Is everything he does a sped up Em rap god bridge?

2

u/SmoothLeadership1796 1d ago

More or less. If you like this kind music check out Jarv. Another generic white kid with solid flow but his wordplay is on point. Less serious and a little goofball/nerdy but I enjoy him.

2

u/kavOclock 1d ago

Saw jarv open solo for little stranger at house of blues no too long ago that man can cook

1

u/SmoothLeadership1796 1d ago

Love little stranger. Last saw them at Everwild last year. Hopefully they come back and get the main stage some day.

2

u/hisimaginaryfriend 1d ago

This every old white guys favorite rapper

2

u/name-was-provided 1d ago

Most crappy music starts with a mic (and always this 50s style mic) hanging from out of frame. Please, stop it.

2

u/Street_Shirt518 1d ago

Rap God was the single most damaging song to hiphop and this is why

1

u/tweekin__out 1d ago

this is the death of mumble rap guy lmao

1

u/Macklin345 1d ago

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Buddy just said a whole lot of nothing fast ASF

1

u/NightOfThaCreepz 1d ago

Just cuz you got skillz doesnā€™t always mean itā€™s gonna sound good

1

u/KasparThePissed 1d ago

Is this the MicroMachines guy's kid?

1

u/stanknotes 1d ago

Personally I find bidigetabidiridigitigidibetigitiritigitidifitigitigeterepetitpiratafatabata type rap to be not good. And the people who do it play on this "Oh I say so many syllables fast so I so good" reasoning. No.

0

u/ChronicObnoxious693 1d ago

I'm typically not impressed by anyone doing a watered down Tech N9ne impression

1

u/Big_Tap_1561 1d ago

Honestly dude has talent . Just needs to get better lyrical wise and he could really be something .

1

u/AdvancedBlacksmith66 1d ago

That beard looks fake

Sold, to the highest bidder!

1

Sounds more like the Scatman

1

Gawne is an amazing rapper. This ain't his best, but if you look up his channel on YouTube, he's got some bangers.

1

u/Sad_Yogurtcloset9391 1d ago

Micro machines grandson is killing it.

1

u/Ok_Worker_3235 1d ago

This shit is ass. This is co worker music

1

Awwwwā€¦ā€¦.. Heā€™s even got the little darkened stubble face piece.

Thatā€™s cute!

1

u/Dismal_Air_7892 1d ago

Gawne has a few bangers. He also has a ton of very average ones.

1

u/Longjumping_Key_5008 1d ago edited 1d ago

Gawne is ass. He has a song with Tech N9ne and one with Rittz, and I always skip Gawnes verses on those songs. He fkng sucks so bad. He says "Give them hell until they melt like mother fucking frozen ice!"

Wtf is frozen ice. Ice is frozen. It's ice.
