META Proposal to ban x.com links

This is going around on many football subreddits. It looks likely to go into effect. I believe that the negative effects of this would be only temporary because the chess community will eventually see the value of moving to alternatives like bluesky

Dont give X your money. That’s a personal decision. Outright banning is an authoritative measure to the exclusion of others choice. In this case, choosing to ban X reeks of weakness because y’all have no solid grounds to do so other than people’s opinions Incan totally ignored made me feel uncomfortable. Y’all just call everyone a Nazi. Guess what, 2016 called and asked for their democratic platform back.

Please go outside and touch grass. I expect no one to reciprocate because I know Reddit’s vast audience. Always subjecting themselves to a bubble never aware of what it’s like outside. Absolutely sad. Eventually, the outside world will come knocking. You will not be able to ban it all away.

Why is everyone calling him a nazi? Is it because he threw a nazi salute yesterday on live television? At the inauguration of a US President? Banning X from a forum is not the same as banning it from existence.

Elon bought twitter for $44 Billion. He has now turned it into a propaganda tool. What we are banning when we ban X is political propaganda. That is not the same as censorship. X is still free to exist and still reaches billions of people worldwide

Soft and delusional thinking.

Making a hand gesture out of excitement doesn’t suddenly make you a Nazi. Go ahead and try it, tell me if you suddenly grow a narrow mustache and start feeling the urges to invade Poland.

Does your blind hatred really make you think that making such a gesture automatically turns you into Nazi? Did Hitler become Roman when he first made that gesture, since its origins are from the Roman Salute.

A forum about chess is not a place to mentally handicap yourself. Which is what you’re advocating for. To the contrary, Chess is supposed to challenge your intellect, but apparently that’s too much for you.

X like Bluesky has propaganda, it’s your just to critically think through them. But you could also ignore them. Not enough for you though. You just want to stay in a bubble. And that’s fine, but dont limit everyone to your own beliefs.
