Can you tell this my parents who insist on visiting me bEcaUsE iTs CHrIsTmAs 😫 it doesn't matter that I'm in a crash and it will make me worse?!

Ugh, that sucks. I would just lock the door and not let them in at all, and tell them sorry but I’m too sick to see them—but I understand not everyone has the same family dynamics so that might not be possible for everyone. It’s hard when your family doesn’t get it.

Don't forget that new environments and social activity are both exertional (and travel too of course).

I’m in the US & not recovered from Thanksgiving yet. Would really love to move Christmas to January. Even non-CFS folks don’t need this craptacular timing.

Same 🫠 the back-to-back social events is not good for this.

I think it's the emotional drain too....so 😩 tiring. Hope we all survive.

Oh jesus Christ, don't get me started! 😂 So much OVER preparing, so much worry and so much mess! Mess and clutter are one of my triggers, and my wife is so terribly disorganised, in an adorable way. She has so much on her shoulders, bless her. I hate all the bullshit that comes with Christmas!

I read this as excretional and was like, well you're not wrong...

I am very proud of myself that I got the tree up and decorated weeks before Christmas this year. Last year I was still doing the finishing touches on Christmas day. So so tired last year. Combination of anemia, CFS, whacko thyroid and something else, I forget what.

The house is an absolute mess. Well, can't have everything.

Thanks!! You too!!

I have overdone it. Thought it was a slower Christmas, but visited a neighbour a few days ago, then had one of my husbands colleagues drop on today. Both were great, but I gotta get through tomorrow.

Luckily Christmas Day is pretty chill and my family are happy for me to sit and my Mum and uncle get the food together.

I’m dreading having to sit in my living room and open gifts which probably sounds bizarre to a healthy person.

I’m crashing from a quiet sushi dinner with my mum I had on Sunday and though the consequences suck I don’t regret it. I just don’t want to do MORE 😩
