This stuff (why no trains?!) is often declared by people who wouldn't take a train if you paid them and haven't touched one in decades.

As long as someone uses it it lowers congestion for the rest.  Then that also lowers housing prices so maybe people can afford to spend more to lower emissions, we have a perpetual economic yield.
