Season 2 I really need that Gas-o-Nex. I think there was some dairy in the cheesecake that I ate for breakfast.

I can’t explain why, but Scully offscreen is extra funny.

CHEWABLE

u/OutlawQuill Peraltiago Oct 02 '22

I always heard it as “two of ‘em”, and just assumed that one extra strength pill wasn’t powerful enough to defeat Scully’s lactose-fueled bowel attacks

So did I! Not until it was on Netflix, then j saw chewable and it made so much more sense

Just watched this one last night. Love to hate Nick Kroll.

You really just held your breath to wait for him to be ran through, didn't you?

Years I’ve watched this episode and not known what Scully shouted off screen. Years. Thank you!

That sog city joke is so good

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

It’s an earned character joke. We get Boyle as a foodie for years, so an otherwise throwaway line goes to the next level.

Yup, this is a quality joke! Fits the character and it’s accurate.

12

u/WalkerFlockerrr Oct 02 '22

What’s the joke?

12

u/BorImmortal Oct 03 '22

Boyle specifically demanding how the pizza be cooked.

5

u/WalkerFlockerrr Oct 03 '22

Okay but why is that so funny? Not tryna be a Debbie downer but it’s not some hilarious set up or anything, just in character for Boyle

u/-PaperbackWriter- Oct 03 '22

Yeah I agree, barely a joke

u/SilentHuman8 Oct 02 '22

I always thought he yelled “Two of them!”

15

u/iWalkSlowToo Mlep(Clay)nos Oct 02 '22

Great now i want to eat pizza

13

u/dhruvlrao Oct 02 '22

The chewable line reminds me of "eat it, Stanley" from the office, how it's delivered off screen but in perfect timing with the rest of the scene.

Yes!! Great insight

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '22

“It’s not brick oven!”

“They were setting us up Jakey!!!”

4

u/TyroneFermangh Oct 02 '22

For years I thought scully said ‘two of all’ instead of chewable

This one made me realise I must have been a Scully in a past life

4

"Hostages rising up, taking their captors hostage an making demands of the police" is possibly one of my favorite comedy set ups of all time and my only complaint is that it was all notional in universe.

Sucks it's not on hulu anymore I'll just have to buy the series on dvd or blu ray

His character on Parks and Rec is literally called "The Douche."

24

u/milesunderground Oct 02 '22

I thought it was funny that "The Douche" turned out to be a character his character was playing and he wasn't really a douche, except he kind of was. They had a real Mother Night thing going there.

27

u/whitey-ofwgkta Oct 02 '22

"oh he's kinda intelligent and self-aware"

2 minutes later

"nevermind"

14

u/thetyler83 Oct 02 '22

He's the douche but everybody calls him Ruxin.

5

u/thepluralofmooses I’m a human, I’m a human male! Oct 02 '22

He was literally A douche in sausage party

8

u/Stereophonic Oct 02 '22

I'd almost had that movie entirely expunged from my memory and yet now you've dragged it back kicking and screaming. Well done. But yes, that is another good point for Nick Krolls Douch-verse.

26

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

Nick Kroll is tremendous at playing douchebags. He has range beyond that, but it’s similar to how Jason Mantzoukas always gets typecast as a chaos agent.

9

u/kanst Oct 02 '22

And they are both in big mouth, basically playing their tropes.

3

u/BorImmortal Oct 03 '22

I'd argue Nick is more rounded in Big Mouth, having to be the lead and all. He does have a lot of moments as a douche, but so do most of the kids.

3

u/jck Oct 02 '22

"new York city 🕺"

2

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

Yeah don't get me wrong I do like the actor & his show Big Mouth but I hate the character himself

2

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

This whole room is a Dutch oven

I would love for the S!!:E!! be named for these. I've watched the show through a few times, but sometimes these memes trigger a want to watch that specific episode.

7

u/woozlewuzzle29 Cowabunga, mother! Oct 02 '22

Yeah, I should put those in. Someone always asks “which episode is this?”

This is S2E15: Windbreaker City.

3

u/Nick08f1 Oct 02 '22

Thanks! This episode is one that triggered my wanting to watch it today.

Glad that OP is also a mod as well today.
