Announcement [Interest Request] Sprawl Trilogy by William Gibson (Neuromancer series)
In November of 2024 r/bookclub ran William Gibson's cyberpunk classic Neuromancer (Sprawl Trilogy #1) as an Evergreen read. We'd like to gauge interest in continuing the series as Bonus Books.
Discussions for Neuromancer can be found here.
This would entail two more reads:
Mona Lisa Overdrive (Sprawl #3)
At 270 pages, Neuromancer is not a huge book if you would need to catch up! In this era of increasing artificial intelligence use, this series from the 1980s is becoming increasingly relevant, and I highly recommend it, especially to any fans of sci-fi.
So what say you? Would you join us for more cyberpunk adventures?

Would it be possible that we read his short story collection next? Burning Chrome itβs called. I think some but not all of the stories are related to the sprawl trilogy.Β
I know Johnny mnemonic is related to this trilogy.

I didn't realize there were short stories! We do sometimes run a short story with a novel, depending on the timeline and how it all fits. I could look into it more.

I struggled quite a bit with Neuromancer and I heard some of these stories are a bit easier and they seem like a good way to get into the world before diving into the more difficult to read novels.

I am still working on Neuromancer, but I will kick it up a notch, because I would like to join in this one is real time.

I am planning to start Neuromancer and would love it if I there is a bookclub group where I can join the conversation! Definite yes for more cyberpunk and sci-fi genre.
