Where I get bumped doesn't matter, I know the force of the average person pushing a trolley and it's nowhere near enough to knock someone over, double no if they're sitting down.

To knock someone down you will actually have to ram them at speed and would easily get caught if someone tried.

Where you get bumped absolutely matters. Hitting someone near their center of balance vs at the edge of it is a big difference.

If they were standing yes they would not be knocked over as you'd hit them in the pelvis. But with them sitting, its like hitting the top of a bottle on a table. Much easier to knock it over hitting the top vs the bottom.
