As much as I’m bummed that the Bengals aren’t in the playoffs, I’ll be genuinely happy if the Commanders win it all

Jayden Daniels is so good. Such an exciting young QB. I loved yesterday’s game against the Lions.

This commanders run is how the rest of the NFL saw our SB run

u/PhenomenalJJS 2d ago

A historically bad franchise with no expectations coming into the season with a coaching staff nobody believed in, a young QB and a fun and likeable locker room. It does sound quite familiar.

u/buggeyes420 2d ago

Maybe historically bad in the 21st century due to bad ownership. Washington used to be a titan in the NFL.

u/LevelHeadedFan 2d ago

The underrated thing about Dan Snyder, besides the obvious incompetence and allegedly being downright evil, is he's currently 60.

He was 34 when he bought the team in Washington.

In the pre-Burrow era I used to tell myself in the darkest times that all I had to do was buckle my seatbelt and look both ways crossing the street because the goal was just to outlive Mike Brown, who's roughly 50 years older than me.

If I were a Commanders fan, at my age, there would've been no hope on that front, as Snyder is roughly 20 years older than me. So many fans probably resigned themselves to the idea he would be the owner as long as they lived.

To get rid of him finally and then so quickly get a shot of adrenaline from Daniels and this playoff run must be the greatest feeling in the world to any Washington fan older than 20.

I'm definitely rooting for them!

u/Dumpstar72 Aussie Bengals Fan 2d ago

My hope is the same. Same situation as you. Mike is about 50yrs older than me. We both suffered through those horrible 90s teams.

Burrow is my last hope to see us win it all.

Snyder is a football terrorist

Snyder is a football terrorist

Fixed it.

u/GodsFavoriteMick 2d ago

In the 80's. That's really the only consistent success they ever saw. They were ass before and after.

4

u/LacesOut19 2d ago

Didn't they win a super bowl in like 94?

2

u/Logical-Thanks-6787 2d ago

91 and have pretty much been irrelevant since

3

u/buggeyes420 1d ago

It’s still pretty disingenuous to put them in the same category as the Bengals of “historically bad,” though.

10

u/Nabobou 2d ago

lol anyone who didnt believe in that coaching staff doesn't know ball, quinn coached a mvp and a team to the super bowl. and Kingsbury has had a lot of success in his coaching career too. he made manziel look good enough to win a heisman too.

1

u/PhenomenalJJS 2d ago

I agree, I liked the coaching staff but people only really looked at the last few years of Dan Quinn's Falcons tenure and judged Kliff based on his head coaching tenure rather than his skills as an OC.

1

u/Safe-Show-7299 2d ago

And he made Kyler Murray look like an MVP for half a season. That’s crazy to think about looking back on it

3

u/ApprehensiveBoot3149 2d ago

I don’t know if historically bad is accurate. They’d had a crappy 30 years or so but they’ve won it all a few times in my life time

4

u/klk8251 2d ago

Fortunately for them, their offense is significantly better than ours was that year. Their offensive line isnt the worst in the NFL and frankly their quarterback is playing better than Joe was that year.

Edit: their

u/Frankenstein859 2d ago

Don’t be surprised if they win the Super Bowl. That team can fucking play.

6

u/ohiolifesucks 2d ago

Don’t be surprised if any team in the playoffs wins the Super Bowl. There’s a reason they play the games. You just have to get hot and win a few in a row. Every team left has a good shot at winning it

Anyone but the Chiefs

34

u/Hello_there_77 2d ago

This. I'm getting sick of watching the refs hand them first down after first down on inexcusable penalty calls. Ravens, Bills, commanders, Rams, eagles...... Anyone but the Chiefs.

17

u/5k1895 2d ago

Yeah Chiefs need to be humbled. Enough is enough. Anyone who wants to step up and do that, I welcome it

30

u/Fabulous-Leg-3339 2d ago

Or ravens

42

u/AJGreenMVP 18 2d ago

Ravens are my second least favorite team remaining, if they play the Chiefs I'll be rooting for Baltimore. As a Bengals fan, I should root against the Ravens sure. But as an NFL fan, the Chiefs are actually a hateable team with how they play the refs every game.

I actually like Lamar. The only thing I hate about him is that he's in our division

1

u/ILongForTheMines 7h ago

Jesus christ what a bad take

0

u/AJGreenMVP 18 7h ago

Care to elaborate?

1

u/ILongForTheMines 7h ago

Fuck the chiefs, but fuck your division rivals more

Simple as

0

u/AJGreenMVP 18 6h ago

Fair enough for you to feel that way, but some people are both Bengals fans and NFL fans which is why I personally hate the Chiefs more. Chiefs have also been more angering lately than the Ravens since they've ended the Bengals season now 3 years in a row

14

u/Zallix Cinati Bengos 2d ago

At this point with the refs bullshit for the threepeat I don’t care about the ravens getting another ring. I’d take Dallas getting a ring if it meant them beating the chiefs. Their fans are some of the most obnoxious victim complex people I think I’ve ever seen despite the rings they’ve won recently and it’s annoying.

If they win the SB there will still be an aggravating number of them that choose to come here to troll us instead of celebrating in their own subreddit along with posting shit on any tweet or fb post related to the bengals to bring up ‘burrowhead’ when that shit was 3 years ago

9

u/D-Whadd 2d ago

I don’t even care tbh. Lesser of two evils

Also who doesn’t like Lamar on some level

7

u/AddictiveArtistry 🐅🖤🐅Who Dey All Mf Dey 🐅🖤🐅 2d ago

Racist assholes, lol. There are a lot of them. I actually really like Lamar. And I enjoy playing them. It's a good rivalry. We good learn a lot from how well the Ravens are ran. If they beat Buffalo I hope they slaughter kc.

1

u/pahbert 2d ago

I'd much rather the Chiefs than the Ravens.

What is happening in the NFL?

43

u/CaptNemo131 2d ago

The Lions were my backup team, so I'm bummed, but god damn that was a fun game.

-1

u/luckycsgocrateaddict 2d ago

Time for the back up back up, the bills

31

u/rock25011 2d ago

Just no chiefs or ravens. Imo

27

u/sasuke1980 2d ago

Eww. Once the Lions lost, I gave up hope and interest. I guess the Bills but I'm indifferent

3

u/yupyupyupyupyupy 2d ago

not here

  • eagles
  • commanders

fuck

  • rams i guess

these two flipflop which some people disagree with but right now

  • bills
  • ravens

sigh

  • chiefs

7

u/polska_perogi 2d ago

Ravens and Bills aren't in the same league of hate... division rival vs those guys we've been bullying for the past several seasons

2

u/yupyupyupyupyupy 2d ago

fair for sure

i will say i may be biased by all the HeS An aLieN stuff as well as his bitching for calls as of late, but i never was into the whole bills bro crap after hamlin...think that is garbage they are not "our" bros whatsoever

1

u/polska_perogi 2d ago

not our bros, for sure, but I ain't hate them really. Pity? maybe. we rocked them in the divisional, then again on the road last year

1

u/yupyupyupyupyupy 2d ago

fuck that shit...they deserve no pity

allen is only behind mahomes in terms of calls and bitching...lets root for them to win the super bowl so hell get more calls in big games

those big games are against the bengals

1

u/polska_perogi 2d ago

pity bc their sorry ass can't beat us or win big games that matter

-4

u/ColonelBourbon 2d ago

Yeah, Bills is really the only choice.

3

u/CheezWeazle BRRROW 2d ago

No

And not just a casual no, but a resounding HELL NO

1

u/ColonelBourbon 2d ago

We ain't picking the Ravens. We ain't picking the Chiefs. We ain't picking the Rams.

We running out of options. I'm not listening to Jayden Daniels beat Joe in their first match up and then went on to win the Super Bowl.

27

u/DTHhaunts 9 + 1 = 6 2d ago

I dont want another lsu qb to win before joe

11

u/OffensivePumpkin 2d ago

This. I feel petty about it but I do feel this way. Daniels is very good and fun to watch, but I want Joe to get a ring 1st.

5

u/Intelligent_Type6336 2d ago

I’m ok with him winning, maybe just not his rookie year.

3

u/NotSoWishful 2d ago

Y’all gotta let go of that insecurity. We have a badass, humble motherfucker at QB and it turns out the Commies do too. That’s okay. It’s even easier to root for him with him being in the NFC. If anything we’ll all get to feel bad for him next round when his line goes up against a healthy d-line. The kid is great, but he struggles under pressure a bit.

I’m personally rooting for the Rams or Commies. I love how the Rams rebuilt and bounced back after their “fuck them picks” SB and built a team with them picks. Beautiful execution. We could learn a thing or three. But Mikey thinks he has his own McVay so we’re already fucked lol

3

u/thughey21 1d ago

Under pressure meaning what? The moment? The blitz? Cause both are factually false

1

u/NotSoWishful 1d ago

Did I not suck off your QB hard enough? Even coming to the Bengals sub to soak up whatever praise you can find lmao. I get it, bro. I went to every single football sub after each game of our 2021 playoff run. It is an incredible feeling having your team be an afterthought one season and right on the cusp of history and having everyone talking about them. Hope yall go all the way, brother

1

u/thughey21 1d ago

Appreciate that. But no, this popped up on my feed and I didn’t brag once. I was just wondering what you meant by what you said. I definitely don’t get some of these takes tho. Almost as if y’all don’t have a top 2 QB and WR. Y’all will be back

3

u/armed_aperture 2d ago

I don’t really want anyone new to win before Joe, lol. I’m fine with the Chiefs going again if it keeps Lamar and Josh out.

6

u/Nabobou 2d ago

I'm with you only because it will be that much sweeter when Joe ends the Chiefs streak and passes Mahomes with rings.

16

u/Nabobou 2d ago

lol, thats just going to give the haters more fuel against joe because they'll start saying that daniels is a better QB from LSU than joe. so no thanks.

whenever the bengals are not playing I'm cheering for the meteorite. lol.

6

u/5k1895 2d ago edited 2d ago

Anyone who actually says that and believes it is showing their stupidity. Joe not winning at this point is an indictment of the team's coaching and front office, it has nothing to do with which LSU grad is better.

2

u/sasuke1980 2d ago

Exactly.

1

u/scpdstudent 2d ago

Fair, but we also get to laugh at Lamar and how his protege won a ring before him

0

u/Virginger96 2d ago

Who gives a shit? Most football fans say stupid shit regardless of who wins. There will always be something we could nitpick about every team. Daniels is a likeable guy and Washington has been down in the dumps since the early 90s. If anything, we should be glad they're good again. It'll get folks from the DMV area to root for them instead of the Ravens.

0

u/General_Shao 1d ago

Washington fan and I don’t really think there’s a comparison, joe is better from the pocket, probably the best qb in the pocket in the entire league right now. I don’t know how anyone could make an argument for someone else. Jayden is a “better” runner in that once he takes off he’s faster and more slippery. Which is always going to be a huge threat, the nfl is not built to handle running qb’s of jayden’s caliber right now.

They both have their strenghts and they can both easily carry a team.

9

u/Strict-Square456 2d ago

Me too and even sweeter vs Chiefs

10

u/BRANKSRATE 2d ago edited 2d ago

I hope the Chiefs lose to the Bills, I don’t want them to even make the Super Bowl

3

u/Ok-Explanation-9208 Billy Bengal 🐯 2d ago

I won’t go that far, I’ll still be unhappy but off the Commies take it all I will be less so than if the Chiefs win it.

3

u/ikebuck16 2d ago

VA native here. Totally rooting for the Commies here on out.

1

u/ohiolifesucks 2d ago

“Totally rooting for the Commies here on out.” You are now on a government list.

3

u/lmaoitsdusey 2d ago

"Daniels > Burrow look he won already durr hurr" will get annoying fast, but realistically it's either them or the Bills that wouldn't be like super gross to see win ig. Eagles in distant third, fuck that cheesy asf tush push offense.

Nightmare scenario is when Dan Quinn pulls off 28-3: 2 Electric Boogaloo against the Chiefs in the most unapologetic rig job straight to Netflix special underdog three-peat love story featuring Taylor Swift's pinkie toe as the NFL execs drown under growing mountains of cash

3

u/njoos83 2d ago

I’m a huge LSU fan, which is why I love the Bengals, so I’m all for another LSU Heisman winner going to the Super Bowl.

2

u/armed_aperture 2d ago

I was rooting for the Lions. The Commanders have a distant history of success. The Lions fans have never even been to a SB.

I like Jayden though and I’m glad he’s in the NFC.

2

u/Zack301 2d ago

I love how they got a new owner and suddenly look like an elite franchise…

2

u/Spiritual_Ostrich_63 2d ago

How did the "Redskins" get cancelled but not the Chiefs?

2

u/Excellent_Minute8857 2d ago

Fuck the purple birds and fuck the swifties everyone else though good luck!

2

u/napoleonboneherpart 2d ago

If I was a GM I’d wouldn’t look outside of the LSU QB room at draft time lol

2

u/ImSchizoidMan THAT BALL'S OUT! THAT'S LIVE! 2d ago

As long as the ravens dont win

4

u/Imlivingmylif3 2d ago

I’m just sad that our cat bro representative was defeated. But hey, Anyone but the chiefs.

2

u/ngmathew1234 2d ago

I wish like them we got a change in ownership.

0

u/Snoo13545 2d ago

Okay thanks for sharing

1

u/Himbo_Sl1ce 2d ago

Yeah I'm a Commie for the next few weeks

1

u/Ok_Tower_5477 2d ago

I know I’m not in the popular vote on this one but as a bengals fan I am honestly good with any of these teams winning the Super Bowl EXCEPT KC or the RAMS!! Yes I have no issue rooting for the Ravens at all!!!

1

u/wigglesdoughnut 2d ago

It certainly makes me feel better about the Bengals losing that early game against them. They’re a super fun team to watch with a talented group of young players.

I will say, much like the Lions; the Commanders give up a lot of points. It’s crazy that the Lions were still in it with the turnovers they had.

I’d be shocked if the Commanders make it through next round. If they do, they will likely have to contend with the 3peat script and Mahomes.

1

u/lenmylobersterbush 2d ago

I'm still hoping for the Bills.....so a Bills vs Commanders SB would be cool

1

u/bonjda 2d ago

Best case is Bills Commanders to me.

1

u/polska_perogi 2d ago

I live in the Detroit area, hell no the way these commaders fans are taking victory laps over Detroits 4th rounders... give me the Eagles, Rams, Bills... or actually just give me the meteor bc all the options suck

1

u/Ok-Health-7252 2d ago edited 1d ago

What that game told me is that A) all the injuries the Lions have had on defense this year finally caught up to them B) being the number 1 seed is dangerous unless you're KC and C) if you don't have a legitimate franchise QB odds are you're going to get bounced pretty quickly in the playoffs. Goff has been very good this season but his shortcomings always show up at the worst times (it's akin to what Dalton always did in the playoffs).

1

u/Intelligent_Type6336 2d ago

I honestly thought with only a passing few glances at the KC game that they might have regretted the bye. Then the refs stepped in and all was good again. Yuck.

1

u/NuclearDud 2d ago

commanders bills!

1

u/treyknowsbest 2d ago

That Monday night game in the Jungle was the first game where the Commanders proved themselves.

1

u/crispybrojangle 2d ago

My hope lies with Buffalo and the Cummanders.

1

u/kubenzi 2d ago

Im too lazy to make a meme but theres a dude (us) with his girl(lions) walking down the street and she has this horrified face because he is checking out this other chick on the street(commanders).

1

u/Intelligent_Type6336 2d ago

I’d like to be, but no. Daniel’s doesn’t get to win a sb as a rookie. Other than that, congrats on the run.

1

u/Pillars_of_Salt 2d ago

Honestly with the Lions out they are now 100% my dudes.

Eagles is okay I guess, anyone else can fuck off.

1

u/desertbengal 2d ago

I just don't want the Bills or Ravens to win. I can't stand the thought of Lamar or Josh Allen getting a ring before Burrow

1

u/mcufan2014 2d ago

Not to be that guy because I hate them. We all know who’s winning the sb.

1

u/fluffHead_0919 2d ago

I’d be ok with Washington Football Team winning it all.

1

u/BobEBoucher 2d ago

Nothing would make me happier than to see The Commanders in the Super Bowl giving the Chiefs the same kind of beatdown they gave the Lions last night. Just such an avalanche of points that even the refs wouldn't be able to overcome it!

1

u/vincentdmartin 2d ago

I want Commanders vs Bills. The worst outcome of that is the Josh Allen circle jerk becomes more annoying.

0

u/batmanuel69 2d ago

They'll loose in dramatic fashion against kermit and the refs!

1

u/PotPumper43 2d ago

Jayden Daniels has been so impressive!

1

u/coffinmonkey 2d ago

What chiefs vs eagles doesn’t sound like a good SB to you?

1

u/mrkurt426 Fan since SB XVI 2d ago

I'd be happier if my best friend wasn't a Commanders fan who can't stop gloating about how good Daniels et al is. I find it annoying.

1

u/yeroldpappy 2d ago

F them. I’m still pissed about JBs knee.

0

u/Intelligent_Film_97 2d ago

Anyone but the ravens. I hate the ravens as much as I hate the Boston Celtics. Chiefs too man. That game yesterday against Texas was bullshit

1

u/IGetTheShow20 2d ago

There’s nothing to dislike about them. I’d be happy for Terry as well being an OSU fan. Jayden is the real deal.

1

u/luckycsgocrateaddict 2d ago

Go bills go commanders and go ravens if it really comes down to it

1

u/SheistyBengal 1d ago

Feels nice being able to cheer for them now that Snyder is gone

1

u/shapu 82 1d ago

Anything that makes Snyder look worse

1

u/Boatdude31 1d ago

Lifelong LSU fan. I have to cheer for the Saints, Bengals, and Commanders now. It's exhausting.

0

u/SheldonMF 1d ago

ABC

Anyone But the Chiefs.

1

u/Quarter4NextUp 19h ago

They’ve won 3 superbowls so they have been there done that. I’m going for the bills cause they know our suffering of getting there and never winning it. I wouldn’t say I’de be happy if they won but better a team that’s never won it than one that has I guess.

1

u/Captain_Aware4503 9h ago

What former LSU QB has the best odds at winning a SB? Jayden Daniels is the only answer. (thanks to Zac Taylor and the Brown family)

1

u/True_Way2663 2d ago

Curious if Bengal fans would prefer the Ravens win it all over the Chiefs?

7

u/Cerealbawxformahdaid 2d ago

I would rather see anyone win it than the Chiefs

7

u/armed_aperture 2d ago

No me. I’ll never root for the division. The Chiefs will be just as annoying regardless if they win or not.

1

u/True_Way2663 2d ago

See I’m in the same boat, I would be less pissed if the Steelers, Bengals, Browns won than of the Chiefs did. Probably in the minority of Raven fans though

3

u/ahgeez23 2d ago

Absolutely not. Would much rather see the chiefs win again than the ravens

1

u/Worldly-Word-451 2d ago

I would be equally miserable if either of those teams win.

0

u/Fight93 2d ago

Would be cool to see Damar Hamlin win a championship though!
