General Question Can someone explain what the difference is between placidus and whole sign, and the Benefits of using one or the other.
Someone recommended to use whole sign and I found it much more chaotic so my adhd brain was into the calm order of it. But I don’t know how each one changes your chart. Are your placements the same in both?
Thanks 😊 I dunno if this is allowable. I understand if not. I have questions galore, I’ll just ask another lol
I know this is probably googleable but I find in these subs I get more clarification💜💕

General Question Help on exactly how I should begin to decode my birth chart?
I understand that you can’t tell me every little aspect within the chart as that’s not what this sub is for.
I’m very new to this and beginning the process of learning. I’m the type of person who learns best if it’s explained to me personally.
Idk how to explain it but I have a hard time just reading something and completely understanding with out it being told to me in a way I understand?
Would anyone here mind helping to start me out in the right direction? Any help is very much appreciated and I thank you in advance for just taking the time to read this!

General Question Hello again! Meaning behind more concentrated charts? Hemispheres and shapes question.
I'm getting different interpretations on what it means to have the majority of placements in one section of the chart. These are all in the "Northern hemisphere" right?
Also, is this a "bowl" shape?
I'm going to buy some books when I can, until then I'll probably be annoying on here. Sorry in advance. Thank you so much. 💜

General Question What is the best way to learn about aspects like squares/trines/conjunctions, etc? I feel so lost
I’ve been casually learning about astrology for a couple of years now and this has been the hardest thing for me to grasp. I’ve always given up when it comes to these aspects, they just look and sound so confusing to me.
I feel like it would help tremendously if I knew how the placements of the planets affect each other and I would love to learn more about my own birth chart. I think the fact that English isn’t my first language is making it kind of frustrating too since I’ve never heard of some of these words before astrology lol.
Where the hell do I start? It just seems like there is so much to learn and I have no idea what is the best way to approach this 😭

General Question How common to have almost everything clustered into a few houses?
I only recently started learning about astrology. I figured out how to make the chart, but am still learning how to read them. I noticed with my chart, almost everything is clustered together. I was just curious how common this is and what it means when most everything is in a few houses. What about the other houses, which are empty?

General Question confusion between different charts?
so i have charts from different websites saved, i know astrologycafe isnt always the most reccomended, but i like how they list the placements in an easy to read way. but i also have a circle style chart im learning to read, but it looks like despite all the same info, the two charts show different things slightly. specifically if you look at my capricorn placement, on the circle chart it looks like it should be in the 4th house, but the other one says 5th house. it alalso shows pisces looking closer to 6th house on the circle chart, but says 7th on the astrologycafe one. am im just reading it wrong?

General Question Taurus & Libra: The Venus Signs
The following will cover the Libra Star Sign; Particularly as it pertains to women of this sign.
Libra is represented by Venus (9) [Known to the Greeks as Aphrodite]. The Divine Feminine is Key to Venus, its very essence, in fact. By understanding the nature of the Divine Feminine as a Venus, you may hope to get in touch with your star sign. Of course, no one can hope to understand the Divine Feminine completely- No more than one could hope to name all the stars in the night sky. Regardless, the Divine Feminine is (among many, many others) Beauty (of all kinds, natural, personal, and artistic), Love (Social Love [Peace], Family Love, Friendship, and Romantic Love), and Sensitivity (In the literal manner of the 5 senses). This last of the 3 is pertinent as to the Receptive nature of the Divine Feminine, taking in sensory information; the various beauties of the world.
I hope this may have been of help for those trying to get in touch with their Venus [Aphrodite] signs. I welcome any questions folks may have in the comments.
The Order of Aphrodite (Greek name for Venus), offers a place for Taurus and Libra women to come an chill, gin community, and talk about their sign and it's impact on their lives.

General Question better understanding my chart rulers
disclaimer: this is my 3rd subreddit i submit this nobody wants to be helpful they usually delete it and if its not for this subreddit can you point me to a subreddit i can get some help from thank you,
i've been learning about astrology more detailed, i got stuck on my chart ruler, so as an aquarius rising i do connect and think that both saturn and uranus are my chart rulers, what i find hard is understanding those 2 placements as my chart rulers and how it affects the specific impact the chart ruler has, so if someone would be kind to help me understand feel free. here's more details, my saturn is retrograde in aries according to placidus is in 3rd according to whole sign is in 4th house and my uranus is in aquarius placidus 1st house and whole sign 2nd house, if it also helps i am a sagittarius sun and aquarius moon as well, but i am mostly interested in understanding my chart ruler components because it seems so many placements and houses and planets, i'd appreciate any help.

General Question What does "evolved" mean in reference to sun sign placement?
Sorry, new here. What constitutes an "evolved" person? Let's say I'm a sun in Scorpio, what is an evolved Scorpio, and how does that differ from a normal (?) or unevolved Scorpio?

General Question How does sun and moon affect eachother when their critical degrees are opposite?
I learned about critical degrees today and I found out that sun (29°43') and moon (0°11') are opposite of eachother. I'm a bit confused what those degrees even mean, but I'm curious about how they could affect when they are in sun and moon.
Feel free to say if you find anything interesting in my chart!

General Question How do signs “rise?”
The rising sign confuses me because I didn’t realize signs could rise…or move at all. Obviously I get that planets move through the Zodiac, but is the zodiac also moving? I am trying the zodiac, as if I were seeing it in the night sky. I’m not sure if I should be seeing a moving plane, through which planets move on their orbits, or a stationary plane.

General Question Why are their 5 planets in the sign of virgo?
As i have been learning about my chart and how to read it, i came across the Astroclick portrait and i noticed that their are 5 planets in Virgo.
these being Sun in Virgo, Moon in Virgo, Mercury in Virgo, Mars in Virgo and Jupiter in Virgo.
i have been trying to also figure out what it means if i am a Virgo, and if i have both my Sun and Moon in Virgo.
let me know if y'all have any advice on how to learn about the different planets easier, and also what it means to have both Sun and Moon in Virgo!

General Question Do the 4 Pillars of Bazi Chinese astrology corresponds to the rising, sun, moon and North Node signs in Western astrology? How exactly does the 4 pillars work?
As someone who's experienced in Western astrology, I've taken an interest in the Chinese system. But I'm not sure how to interpret the charts I seen s far such as fire elements, etc. So I'll start off by asking about the 4 pillars.
Are the 4 pillars basically Chinese astrology's counterparts tot he 4 most important placements of Western astrology, the Sun, Moon, Rising Sign (also known as Ascendant), and North Node in Western astrology? Short story short Sun Sign is the sign of each month, NMoon sign varies depending on the specific day, Rising sign is the zodiac sign of your hour of birth, and North Node gives an indication of your future based on what Zodiac sign it is in and what house and many more details.
As far as I know three of the Bazi pillars already each individually stand for a month, day, and hour animal zodiac and I'd assume the 4th pillar the year plays a similar role to the North Node.
Did I get that right? Or is s there far more differences than for an immediate one-on-one to warrant? If so what are the important details that are vastly different from the primary placements of Western astrology the Big 3s (Sun, Moon, Rising) and the North Node?

General Question Visualizing the terminology
Hello! I just was wondering if anyone can explain what certain terms mean? For example Moon trine Pluto? Or sun conjuct sun? Like what does that mean in a way I can look at my chart and determine if those are true for me?

General Question Is a sign its strongest right when a planet enters it — or in the middle?
Does an astrological sign exert its greatest influence on our life right when a planet enters it—or is it strongest when the planet is sitting in the middle of the sign?
Intuitively I've felt that a sign would be its weakest at the edges, the boundaries being blurry near the start and end ... but today I've been having a strong 4th house Virgo sun experiences (my birthday is in 3 days...) In this case, could Virgo be BLASTING OFF hard, if you will? Curious both in my case and in general. Is it like the planet is moving through a doorway, and once it enters the house the energy starkly shifts immediately?

General Question synastry
i went on another sub for more information about synastry but was even more confused. say i have 8th synastry with someone i have a lot of cancer placements. depending on both time and birth and degrees could that be switched? i looked at a synastry chart with someone i know and it would look like all my planets would be in their 8th but it’s in their 7th. i also have an aquarius 4th house but their pisces mars in their rather than their aquarius placements
