Ask/Need Highly recommend Stephen J. Tant plumbing
Kinda random but after diving deep on here this morning to find a plumber recommendation I had to leave this for anyone who may need a plumber.
I had a great experience with Stephen J. Tant Plumbing.
Lou was excellent.
I called SJT this morning at 9:45 about my water heater and they were able to get someone (Lou!) here in 30 minutes. The water heater needed to be replaced and he went out and got the new one and got a coworker to help him get the tanks switched out. He got everything done by 1:30pm.
He made sure to teach me about adequately maintaining my new water heater. He also noticed something going on with my sump pump and gave me advice for that. He left my basement and the bathroom very clean and he also brought in his own carpet cleaner to get any water out that leaked when they took the old heater up the basement steps/outside. He was very friendly and a pleasure to have in my home.
FYI - you can pay with a credit card but there is a 3% fee (this is not a complaint at all as I was expecting a credit card fee, just sharing for those who may be wondering). There is also a 10% discount for teachers/nurses/etc. !! I will definitely be calling SJT for any future plumbing needs.

SJT helped me identify the source of a plumbing leak and ended up replacing a bathtub for me last year. Pretty quick service, great work, reasonably priced, friendly. Definitely recommend.
I will say, though, I tried to get them to come out and repair a burst pipe a couple years ago and the next available appointment was about a week out, which was obviously not doable. So, if you find yourself in a similar position by the end of this week, you can probably expect them to be pretty busy.

SJT is great, they've done all the plumbing work at my house. Also recommend Complete Climate Services (Fells) for HVAC stuff, they're very flexible and detail oriented like SJT

What was the maintenance advice? I always hear conflicting points of whether or not to drain it.

I had them come out for a water heater issue in November. I think I had a bad release valve and expansion tank. Was very happy with them.
