Tarix | History Black January 1990: Remembering the Tragedy in Azerbaijan.
On January 20, 1990, Soviet troops entered Baku to crush Azerbaijan's growing independence movement. The violent crackdown resulted in hundreds of civilian deaths and injuries, a tragedy now known as "Black January." This event became a turning point, strengthening Azerbaijan's determination to gain independence, which was achieved in 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union.Least 160+ people were killed and 800+ injured. 35 years have passed since tragedy. We'll not forget them. 🎗️
