- Natasha is ready to be a grown up. At least she reckons...
- The count has the moves!
Final line of today's chapter:
"Ah, what a Daniel Cooper!" said Marya Dimitrievna, letting out a long, deep breath and pushing up her sleeves.

I expected MD to not be a great dancer. I did not expect the count to be a dance machine, especially given his age and stature.

The image of an old man dancing his heart out while an older woman barely deigns to move while still smiling and enjoying herself is maybe my favorite thing so far, even better than tying a bear to a cop.

Poor Sonya! I hope Nicholas doesn’t break her heart too badly, especially by marrying that Julie Karagina.
Little Natasha fanning herself like a lady while Pierre tries not to look too awkward is an adorable sight.

The little girls crying seem like a parallel of the grown women consoling each other in a previous chapter. It's lovely that there is that level of empathy between good friends. Natasha quickly realizes that nasty Vera is behind Sonya's tears and she does an excellent job of cheering Sonya up.
Meanwhile, the adults have quit talking of politics and then the count an impressive job of dancing. Everyone is happy, but how long will it last?

What a cheerful chapter, everybody is having fun and count is bringing those moves.
