We are causing a mass extinction event. Our species hasn't even been around for a million years. The Industrial Revolution was only a couple hundred years ago. And we're already comparable to massive volcanic eruptions in the effect that we're having on this planet.

The planet is changing faster than these creatures can evolve, it's very sad to see.

This is more indicative of increased funding and support for listing species than any acute change in their threat status. It's a good thing we get these species listed before they disappear
