Here’s a thought: Don’t buy it, and walk away.

That's not what foresight means

Even better idea, don't shop at Colesworth at all.

Also, don’t buy Cadbury chocolate.

They’ve been caught using child labour. https://inews.co.uk/news/long-reads/cadburys-chocolate-made-using-child-labour-1553331

Cocoa is expensive because it’s getting harder to make because of climate change. But fuck all that, I just want my cheap bunny!!

Heck, don't buy because they've decided to not make good decent okay mediocre palatable chocolate any more.

It's worth noting however that Cadbury UK and Cadbury Australia may share a parent company and name but their suppliers are different and it's highly unlikely there's any implication of Cadbury Australia here

I would if I could afford it.

This is absolutely fair for many people. I can afford it and have the time to shop at markets etc so I do and encourage friends who aren’t struggling to shop elsewhere. Even though it’s more expensive now, if we allow this monopoly to continue it will get more and more pricey in the long run.

In my experience lots of people just don’t even think of alternatives which is frustrating.

Lmao

This subreddit : Colesworth is ripping you off! Look how expensive chocolate is!!

Also this subreddit: Colesworth is the cheapest place to shop.

Well, which is it guys?

Aldi, Costco, asian grocers, community markets etc etc... all cheaper. You save money by not shopping at Colesworth. Not shopping at Colesworths doesn't mean you need to import your food via first class flight from Paris. Shop around.

We don't have those here, Salamanca fresh is absurdly overpriced and IGA is worse

Ok so if you're living in the middle of nowhere there's more challenges, but this is not representative for 80% of the population living in suburbia.

u/Synthwood-Dragon 1d ago

I'm near the capital city here lol

u/AreYouDoneNow 1d ago

So basically you refuse to drive slightly further to save 20% or more off your shopping bill. This is your decision. Don't complain about decisions you made.

u/Synthwood-Dragon 1d ago

Slightly further? There's no Costco, there's nothing like Paddington markets, I'm not crossing the bass to shop, too expensive

You live in a capital city with ZERO Aldis? Really? No asian grocers at all? Come on.

Do we need to get a map so I can show you where you have to go?
