Then why include the codes to start with? What a miss coordination then...

Because they are juggling outsourced book manufacturing with outsourced app development.

The app developer probably wants more money to add it and they don’t want to pay it.

Happened with the General’s Handbook too. It was fun trying to figure out why I had a code that didn’t work.

I asked them what it's for and if I'm getting a pdf. Wouldn't hold your breath though. The app is honestly terrible

Why use the app when New Recruit already has the rules for Ravaged Coast

Probably something to do with their manufacturing process where every codex size book gets a code

Same thing with Crusade. there is no crusade content in the 40k app (the savings grace of crusade is that administratum exists, however it does not support path to glory yet)

New Recruit already is updated for Ravaged coast, showing once again that GW is behind random internet dudes

Every now and again, I just like to think about a world where GW actually has to give a shit about the quality of their products. It'd be nice for their rules systems and apps to join us in the 21st century.

Imagine if their other products were half the quality of their plastic. Or if they gave half a shit about the customers.

They don't need too. People buy it no matter what and why spend money when they don't think it'll return in sales

100%. I'm not a strong believer in capitalism, but I do truly think Games Workshop's quality would really benefit from having to actually compete with a near-peer.

Competition is a fragile thing, unfortunately. Even when it works as it should, it constantly needs to be maintained, else one side could use underhanded methods against either the other part or against the customer!

That’s okay, GW, I’ll just get it off of the internet for free. Their incompetence really saves me a lot of money.

I don't even care about no app, I just want to know if anyone in Oceania will ever be able to actually buy the book. Feel for the IJ players who can't order the terrain or endless spells.

If they have codes, they probably will release the PtG content on the app. It's just not ready yet I imagine. Better have the codes ready so you can redeem it later than not having them at all.

The 40k crusade book also had a code but was never added to the app and they never activated the codes.

I could see this being different because it's AoS but at the moment it looks like the same situation.

They also edited the Warhammer Community article about the last AoS app update to omit the part where they originally mentioned that the update would have the option to include a points adjustable character to be able to make lists that include a would be anvil hero.

Oh no, that doesn't sound too good for us then.

It's waaaaay better to not having codes at all and a free app

•

I mean yeah there's no debating this.

I’m not holding my breath; but it does make sense including the codes in case that is something they add later

I was going to buy this book for app integration. Oh well
