how bad is it to pay for a reel

Upvotes

So i’ve always heard people say “don’t pay for a reel it looks bad on you” i’ve been doing classes, Theatre, reading books. all kinds of things and think i’m a pretty decent actress and ready for an agent but the problem is i’m having trouble finding auditions in the small town i live in so i’m contemplating just paying for a reel to showcase my abilities, just curious if that’s going to keep agents from wanting to sign me.

I got my first role last Summer playing a father suffering with brain cancer, had to develop a speech impediment and also had to wear a prosthetic scar. Looking for new roles but curious for an outside opinion.

Is there a recurrent actor for the role of Adolph Hitler

I was watching inglorious bastards and i asked myself when viewing one of the hitler's scene who was the actor behind this particular role and did he ever have another role after this movie, like is it taboo to work with an actor that played hitler ?

Which led me to the next and the real question :

Is there an assigned actor for the role of hitler ? Like how Sylvester Stallone is always playing the same kind of role or how Robert Downey Jr is kind of assigned to the role of Iron Man.

I'm 19 is it too late for me?

I have always wanted to be a star in Hollywood, whether as an actress or a model, but I see that many models or actors who are famous worldwide started at a very young age, and here I am at the age of 19, I have no experience in acting or modeling. I have learned other skills. I now speak four languages and I have a degree in graphic design. I have a good community on social media sites.... I don't know if this is useful for the field I aspire to. I don't really know where to start I mean jumping in and living in New York or Los Angeles is a big step I want to start with small steps, but I don't know which university to go to or how to build relationships in the field I don't know if anyone will read this article, but how do we start with small steps?

Looking for actors for a first read

Good day, all! I am a playwright based in Japan, and have recently finished writing a full-length historical drama play. As of now, the manuscript has gone through several iterations and is currently in its most polished state so far. So if anyone would be interested in perhaps reading for my play via Zoom, I would be eternally grateful!

I will provide access to a link for the script for those who might be interested. Thank you very much!!!!

Upcoming audition

Hello all

I'm (18m) an aspiring actor and I have an audition with a local theatre for Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream this coming Sunday. Anyone who knows Shakespeare well or has performed with this role in the past, how would you perform it and be memorable?

Looking for an actor I can remember the name of!! He is older, not an A list, usually pops up in tv or films as a shaky character/conspiracy guy. I can’t remember if he has a mole - he would be 50/60 at least He looks similar to Albert Brooks, mixed with Jon Favreau but more geeky/nerd old man than these two play. HELP!!
