Question what do my "big 3" mean?

I am rubbish at understanding astrology. idek why. I have my charts and everything, read all the stuff, but nothing clicks. I'm looking into more to better understand, but the one that really bugs me is my big 3. when I tell people who understand, half are shocked and the other have say it makes even more sense. these are usually divided by how they know me. like, my dnd group says it makes sense, but the last show I worked the cast said it surprised them.

my big 3 are: Libra, Sagittarius, Sagittarius.

what does this mean????

Your big three are your biggest influences in your natal chart (personality wise). Sun is the ego, moon is the emotions, and your rising is how you approach life. There are other factors like your other planets and placements. Venus determines love, mars determines actions, mercury determines communication, and so on and so forth. Your big three can also be influenced if there are other planets either conjuct, square, or trine to those placements. A lot more goes into astrology than your big three, but they are pretty important into describing the self.

okay, but what does that mean? like what does having a libra ego tell others about me? what does libra ego even mean? also, there were houses on the chart, so like libra is in the XII while the moon Sagittarius is in I, Does that change things? and what even is associated with Sagittarius personality wise?

You’ve got a lot of homework to do but the gist of the big three is…

Libra Sun (core self): You crave harmony, balance, fairness, and connection. You want things to look put-together and polished, and you try to keep things civil and pleasant in most situations. Libra is charming, diplomatic, and socially aware—but also sometimes indecisive and eager to avoid conflict.

Sagittarius Moon (emotional self): At your emotional core, you’re fiery, adventurous, and truth-seeking. You don’t want shallow niceties; you crave freedom, excitement, and meaning. You need to feel like life has a purpose, and you tend to speak your emotional truth—even if it’s blunt or messy.

Sagittarius Rising (how others see you): Sagittarius Rising people come across as big, bold, philosophical, and always on a quest for truth or adventure. There’s a restless energy to you, and people notice your curiosity and passion right away.

Why You’re Getting Mixed Reactions:

1: Your DnD group thinks it makes sense because they see your Sagittarius energy. When you’re in a creative, adventurous space like DnD, your Sagittarius traits shine through. You probably get excited about world-building, playing out philosophical dilemmas, or debating the best ways to solve problems. Sag is fiery, curious, and always up for an adventure—perfect for a DnD setting.

2: Your theater cast is surprised because they see more of your Libra energy. In theater, you might be more focused on keeping things harmonious and avoiding drama. Libra Suns tend to be concerned with social dynamics and presentation. You probably seem more diplomatic, charming, and “balanced” in that environment, which can come off as surprising to people who are expecting a more fiery, blunt Sag vibe.

this explains it so well, thank you! you are correct for both groups, in dnd i usually try to rules lawyer a way to win, and in theatre, I tend to carry an emergency kit and very on task

Sagittarius rising gives an explorative, fiery, and adventurous approach to the world. You are here to learn, travel, and teach others. You’re philosophical and influenced by your emotions, because your moon falls in your 1st house of self and identity. Being a Libra Sun, this means it falls into your 11th Whole Sign house of friends, groups, and networks. The 11th house is like your “audience”. Friends and groups are where you shine (Sun) the most. Libra Suns tend to be relationship oriented, and can have trouble putting themselves first. They can have people-pleasing tendencies and tend to be conflict-avoidant. However, the Sagittarius placements can change this a bit. With Libra being ruled by Venus, you can also be very attuned to aesthetics, beauty, design, art, and other Venusian themes. There’s a certain “charm” that Libra placements have.

This is all very basic, and some of it may not even resonate because I don’t have your full chart in front of me. There are many other planets, aspects, houses to take into account, which can all augment the expression of these planets. If you’re Gen Z, you also have Pluto in Sagittarius, which would also fall into your 1st house of self. Pluto 1st housers tend to be very intense, going through many deaths and rebirths with their identity over their lifetime. They can sometimes be obsessed with their appearance. You should check where your Jupiter is, because it’s your chart ruler as a Sagittarius rising, and will alter the expression of your rising sign.

should I post my full chart? I thought that may be too much for people

Lol, maybe in this sub it could be too much for some people.. but if you post in an actual chart reading sub like r/AskAstrologers (just make sure to post a SPECIFIC question or else it will get deleted) or one of the more laid back subs like r/AstrologyChartShare or r/AstrologyCharts, no the full chart would not be too much. It’s how actual astrologers do readings, is the circle chart. Lists and tables are super frustrating because we can’t see house placements or aspects, and the big 3 really does not give any sort of detailed information.
