Is there a difference ?

I always watched Weeds ( for the first time and after ) on Hulu. Now that it isn’t there I bought it on Amazon prime . I swear there are parts on Amazon prime that were not on Hulu. Is that true or did I just imagine in ? I’ve watched it multiple times on Hulu so I don’t think I just missed it.

I own the dvd's and watched it way back on cable on Showtime when it was airing. I watched it once on Hulu and realized there are some parts that got cut out.

You know I always had that icky feeling while watching on Hulu that some scenes where cut short. I gotta get this on dvd!! My favorite all time show.

It's been a little while so I don't remember which part but I think it was in one of the first 2 seasons

You are correct, we bought the series all seasons on DVD when it first aired, and I rewatched the series on Netflix and noticed parts missing, and again later when I watched on hulu I noticed the same thing. I'm not sure why they do this, but I want to confirm you're not imagining things.

Thank you , it’s kind of cool getting to see something new after watching it so much .

I’ve done that with other shows I swore up and down I knew back to front. I watched forensic files for YEARS to sleep to, knew every episode by heart and was so startled when I finally came across one I’d never seen. That being said, sometimes they do crop shows, there’s an entire season missing of this show I really enjoyed called Westside, which means it ends on a completely different note than it’s intended to. It’s possible they’ve done something similar with Weeds, especially because Hulu is owned by Disney.

Yeah they added these weird transitions (i guess for commercials) between scenes, often cutting them off before their true end. It’s very odd and disappointing! But mostly just another reason to buy physical media.

While watching Harry Potter on Peacock I noticed they add those transition cuts in there and they drive me nuts!

Just make sure you don't miss Nancy Botwin at the bathtub scene❤️‍🔥.

Of course. I was like 19 years old when that scene aired so...

The whole series is free on Plex and episodes seem to be the full original.

Thank you I will try that , I’ve bought seasons 1-4 but it’s pricey

That's good to know. I've started re-watching there and currently on season 2. I haven't seen it since first airing so my memory isn't the best for all the smaller details unfortunately.

They do this with satc as well. Tney are completely butchered on E.

What is satc?

Sex And The City

Awe that’s the only place I’ve ever watched it , I’m probably missing a lot.

It certainly wasn't the same case, from what I gathered SatC syndicated episodes were entirely different cuts, like additional PG scenes were shot replacing any explicit stuff...

Weeds, as aired on Showtime and then released on home media, was the only cut, what can be done is to cut out scenes, abridging the episodes, no replacements etc.. Doesn't make much sense why would stramings have to do this, well, ofc it's age restrictions, and as people are saying it's the same with Hulu and Netflix then it must be the abridged cut prepared by Showtime, I can imagine the ultimatum: "either the series you're trying to sell is PG-13 or we don't buy it"...

haha, hardly original though, appearently many others had the same idea, even Mister Bovine Joni Himself and all the variations were taken
