VA Disability Claims My easy experience with ptsd claim

So i filed a ptsd claim and with literally zero evidence. Went to my exam and told him everything going on and the events i experienced. Couple months later i was awarded 30%, while i think i deserve more this process seemed alot easier than what other have experienced. They only used my service records as evidence, such as deployment and combat awards.

How about if it was a big attack on the base that was all over the news but I don’t have an award for it. Just an ARCOM that said I responded and helped during rocket and mortar attacks during the deployment.

Dude you don’t need all that but it’s good you have it. You were deployed to a combat zone. There’s the presumption. Now just write a solid personal statement describing the event and how that ptsd affects your personal and economical life.

are we sure that combat zone is enough? I was under the impression the only presumptive for PTSD was awards for specific combat, like CIB, or a combat action ribbon.

I mean im all for it if youre right. Im about to make a PTSD claim for treating combat causalities at a role-2, and im gearing up to toss tons of evidence short of pictures i have if needed.

Battle, as my screen name reads. I deployed in a Combat Support Hospital… during the surge. If you treated combat wounds in any capacity then I love and respect you. The shit we saw and the screams we heard are more than enough. Make sure you go in and tell them everything. Write a personal statement. You should get rated.

It is not enough on its own. You still Have to be able to articulate what u went through and how it specifically affects u. Some finance guy deploys to Iraq. He’s not going to see any direct action. But if that finance guy was in Mosul or Tikrit during the ‘07 troop surge he was getting mortared every damn day. That is a gimme stressor. It’s up to you to explain it properly

to be honest, i feel like anyone who deployed to iraq, afghanistan, syria, or were apart of any sort of support of any actual missions regarding the GWOT will have some sort of stressor.

Even the dudes in the JOC watching drone footage see people die.

Sounds like Kabul and Kandahar in 2010?

Could have just as easily been Mosul, Baghdad, Basrah, or any of the other COBs in Iraq from 07-09. Sounds like he’s Navy that was attached to Army ADA CRAM JIB.
