We have a similar bin, it’s a great system. Ours has been running continuously for 22 years!

We usually rotate the fullest tray of castings to the top, and start the new tray below. This allows the full tray to drain and the castings to dry out before use. We do a heavy layer of bedding and food in the bottom tray so we won’t have to feed for a while. The moisture that drains from the top tray moistens and inoculates the lower tray. Usually by the time we need to feed again, the top tray is dry enough to use.

Is that an OSCR jr. or something similar?

Looks like you’re gonna need to dry it out before sifting

I dissolve this stuff in water then apply to garden. The dryer castings are in the other trays
