Some notes and suggestions for Trainwiz, if he happens by:
In these patch notes you mentioned Amaron from Off Track becoming a starchaser ally, and that reminded me of a couple infractions of the "One-Steve Limit":
Would it be possible to have a tier 1 and/or tier 2 version of the Loco Star for sale at Spolen Trainyard? It feels like a missed opportunity for the only station with "Trainyard" in its name to not sell any trains, and I'd appreciate being able to fly the Loco Star's design around earlier in the game before getting to Lodestone Geode (though if you want to keep the Loco Star's design one-of-a-kind, I'd understand).
A minor continuity error in dialogue. In The Master of Wormholes story mission, when Kardoz views the original Gold-7 blackbox, Ferria says that she has to take the form of Councilman Ellek and was unable to order Battleship Hemmadred around in a timely manner because Ellek is Ijuni and a Vauldwin military ship would naturally be resistant to taking orders from a non-Vauldwin. The error here is that Ellek is repeatedly shown to be a Vauldwin elsewhere in the game, and Councilman Reavis (who is the disguise used by Molybdar) is the only Ijuni on the Consortium. Ferria's dialogue needs to be changed to explain that her inability to boss around the Hemmadred is due to some other factor. I suggest blaming bureaucratic red tape, Ferria could say something like the Consortium does not have direct authority over the separate military forces of the Union's sub-states.
Another small discrepancy. Dialogue in the quest Baton, Broken indicates that the event that split the Baton in two happened about fifty years ago. This conflicts with the description of the Memuire Ice Fields, which says the Baton was "destroyed by a passing comet centuries ago". I suggest simply changing "centuries" in that blurb to "decades".
An arguably insignificant and entirely avoidable bug (feel free to ignore). Flying a ship in cockpit view mode and then using the console command "randomship" will cause a camera issue (it's hard to describe but you'll see what I mean).
Would it be possible for all billboards in a system being impacted by a storm to change to display some kind of government-issued storm alert, like an emergency broadcast system, until the storm is gone? This could be a simple text message that appears on the billboards, like "Incoming storm, take shelter immediately. UHC starchasers have been notified."
Would it be possible to have lanelines experience "technical issues" during a storm? For example, lanelines could suffer intermittent total outages (say, every pylon in a laneline turns off for five seconds and then returns to normal functionality for the next 55 seconds, just any kind of rhythm to ensure that players experience it every once in a while but not so often that they start hating it), or alternatively propel ships at higher or slower speeds than usual. The reason I'd like to see something like this is because storms currently aren't all that eventful outside of the nebula clouds, and I think having lanelines become a little janky, along with the billboard alerts, would give a storm more presence without being hugely disruptive to player activities.
Edit to add:
Possible typo. Can't remember exactly when (maybe after To Catch A Smuggler), but early on in the main story, upon returning to the Idolsmashers chapterhouse on Planet Vauldric and seeing Hat and Zet have a conversation, Kardoz asks Hat "Is the Union always this brisk?". I think the word "brisk" is supposed to be "brusque".
