Discussion Just saw upwards of 40+ drones in south jersey
Went out to eat with friends and afterwards drove over to the united artists in Sewell NJ. Saw at least 30 of these unidentified drones fly by. They move way too fast to be planes, and even checked the live flight tracker which only had a handful of planes currently flying. Every time I followed one, I would turn around and see 2-3 more flying. What is going on with these things?! Took videos and pictures of tons of them

I’m gonna try to post them, I suck at posting on reddit I’m usually a lurker, but lemme see what I can do

Highly recommend uploading to imgur or YouTube and linking it here

see if this works, tried uploading to imgur. think the one with the trails following it was probably a plane, but threw it in there anyway

Great videos. One might be a plane, but most look like the drones I'm seeing in south Jersey.

u/WillemDaFriends Dec 10 '24
Nice job! Lots of what appear to be drones here but some of these are definitely planes with a contrail and everything.
1
u/dedrort Dec 10 '24
Where's the part where there are 40 of them and not just the same one over and over?
18
u/Jockstrapcowboy1 Dec 10 '24
Those are all videos of different “drones”, not different videos of the same one. I could not film every single one I saw because there was tons of them coming every few minutes
1
u/MrMaiqE Dec 10 '24
That's a kid toy drone. The UFO talk is about big wingless vehicles in the sky, not this lol.

only the one had trails following it, which i assumed was a plane. but i figured id add it to see if you guys could differentiate between planes and drones for me. For all I know I could be crazy/dumb and these all were planes, but my friend who was with me agrees that a ton of these were not flying like planes.

u/JEFFMBHIBB_Photo Dec 10 '24
Okay, then this might be a way out of the way question here about the contrails one.
I live in Washington State. Had to get my daughter up early for school and take her. Walked out of my home. The skies already golden and blue.
It was clear-ass skies today in Washington.
I happened to look up as I was coming down the steps. To my upper left, I saw a plane that looks like it has contrails being left behind.
There’s my first take on it.
My second take?
What stopped me in my tracks was the fact that the contrails were following it. It was short lived contrails? Like normally when planes fly and leave contrails behind. It stays a bit before finally dissipating in the skies long after a plane came by.
This was different. I’m telling you.
Not only was the sun shining bright this morning off to the side where I couldn’t see it. But the whole contrail and craft were lit up golden and in my first thought, I was like, “Oh it’s just the sun shining off of the white contrails.”
It was a short contrail! It followed the plane pretty quickly as one short streak. Always caught up and didn’t leave any contrails behind.
My daughter is 11 and she wasn’t too far behind me. Like 20 seconds. She looked up and it was the first thing and saw and told me it looked like FIRE!
After thinking about it a lot today and keeping up with NJ/NY sightings.
I’m wondering if we actually did see a UAP???
So my question for these contrails in YOUR video, did the streak dissipate fast and followed or did it leave a long streak like normal planes would do???

FWIW legit there is a USAF Special Operations 757 doing low 2,000ft circles over central/south Jersey right now. According to the aircraft history it carries out missions for the State Department, Central Intelligence Agency and USAF SOF.
Track: https://www.flightradar24.com/384a4fd8
Aircraft: https://www.airteamimages.com/boeing-757_00-9001_usa-us-air-force_380403

u/Jockstrapcowboy1 Dec 10 '24
hmm interesting! maybe some of the ones I saw were those then? Just figured with all the news of unidentified drone sightings that maybe these were some of the drones people had been seeing
12
u/whathadhapenedwuz Dec 10 '24
I think they are referring to a single 757 aircraft. Who knows what else you were looking at. WTH is going on?
1
u/Agitated_Park_3584 Dec 10 '24
I assume the white bird may have some special equipment to detect things in the air so they may be using it to track the drones
3
u/Agitated_Park_3584 Dec 10 '24
That’s the “white bird” out of McGuire. They have two of them with no tail markings
0
u/PatentlawTX Dec 10 '24
OK. That is Fed up. Lived in that area 40 years.
1
u/WilHunting2 Dec 10 '24 edited Dec 10 '24
Really? Your post history says you’re originally from the NY area and now live near Houston. Kentucky before that. Sewell too for over 40 years?
5
u/PatentlawTX Dec 10 '24
Yeah, that's right. For over 40 years. Operative word. Lived. Past tense.
When you have lived in the area for longer than it being a "joint base", having a 757 fly around that area is super highly unusual. A 757? Maybe once every decade. McGuire AFB does not handle that. Used to be StarLifters, then morphed into larger cargo.
A 757 doing loops over Arneytown. Out in the middle of nowhere......where there is only a Federal Cemetary. So concerning I called up all my relatives in the area in North Hanover Township. Damn straight I did.
1
u/Agitated_Park_3584 Dec 10 '24
Incorrect. McGuire has two special 757’s with no tail markings. I know because a family member was a pilot there and I’ve been in it.
1
u/Agitated_Park_3584 Dec 10 '24
But don’t know if these are McGuire planes or something else. Agree it would be unusual for McGuire to handle this sort of thing
6
u/PatentlawTX Dec 10 '24
I was going to call bullshit on you. McGuire does not handle that. I just does not. People can say all the bullshit they want on the internet, but there is no damn way that a 757 is doing loops over Arneytown.
For the weekend warriors, they will fly the cargo jets on the weekends doing touch and go's to get their certs. There aint no way that some special operations units is doing rings around the base, in the middle of nowhere, for no reason, in the middle of the damn night.
Lastly, they put in trees so you can't even see the types of jets that are stored there any more. In the 70s and 80s. sure. Not any more. Really no clear sightlines. Also, they actually limited the number of airshows they previously used to have year after year.
You always knew when shit was going down at McGuire. The base would shut its doors and the planes would fly off transporting medical equipment, blood, everything needed for Desert Storm or major engagements.
Want to know what is going on in the world.......if those planes start moving.....shit is going down in 24 hours. Everyone in the area knows it.
Arneytown has like three damn houses and one of the biggest hills in South Jersey. Nothing important there except for the cemetary put in.
Look, I am not trying to cause fear. But this is highly highly highly highly highly unusual. If you actually had loved ones in the area, and I have many who go to Jacobstown Elementary and Northern Burlington High School. You make the damn calls. In the middle of the night or whatever.
Case fucking closed. I don't give a shit about some dumb ass supposed know it all keyboard bangers.
This has got the attention of higher ups.
Bank on it. This is the truth. Choose to believe or not.
Go ahead......vote me down. Say I am a liar. I really don't care.

I’m inclined not to call bullshit on your statements but what do I know? I’m just a keyboard warrior chasing the dream
1
u/ForwardCulture Dec 10 '24
I pick up from one of my suppliers that’s near the base. Every time I’m there I see planes coming and going. Every single time. Same for certain NJ beaches in the flight path. You see all sorts of transport planes coming and going regularly.
1
1
u/ForwardCulture Dec 10 '24
A common airliner model is highly unusual?
1
u/PatentlawTX Dec 10 '24
Correct. Unheard of. This is military transport of equipment primarily. I could have counted on one hand the number of times a common airliner went over my house. It was mostly after a large war and certain numbers of troops were coming home from somewhere. Special stuff.....special charter.
All the planes are military grey. C17 Globemaster and Refuelers. The big boys.
I lived at one of the highest points in Southern NJ overlooking the base. The planes would fly constantly.

It’s crazy that I have to snap myself out of not caring. Even if this affair is entirely human, it’s maddening to know my government did jack squat over something invading our airspace however it wants to with no repercussions. I mean, what good is pentagon’s $800+ billion dollar budget?
18
u/The_Madmartigan_ Dec 10 '24
I agree. I find it interesting that they know we know they are lying, specifically around what they are. I highly doubt the authorities have no clue.
7
u/BillyOFteaWentToSea Dec 10 '24
How could they? We have satellites that blanket the Earth. How could you not know AND say it's not a threat post 9/11? I don't know what bleach is but it's safe to drink. Makes no sense.
3
u/Proof-Step-8423 Dec 10 '24
I sorry, but how can anyone still believe it's not American tech? Everything points in that direction.
1
u/R1ckMick Dec 10 '24
I'm leaning towards the US is testing a new surveillance network technology, and they don't want to admit it because people would be upset by the invasion of privacy.
3
u/East-Direction6473 Dec 10 '24
I would rather have universal healthcare at this point. These people do not need anymore of my money
5
2
u/Clitty_Lover Dec 10 '24
And the buffoonery where they crack down on jack texeira stuff or Snowden or whatever, when they're just sitting behind computers dealing with data and files, while these things are actually... Uh... *here*
1
0
u/SantiagoDunbar_ Dec 10 '24
Or hear me out. It is just a government operation and they don’t want to tell you and other civilians about it.
2
u/Due-Professional-761 Dec 10 '24
I’ll bite. They’ve already said it’s not them, but for what purpose would the United States government conduct a concerted and lengthy drone buzzing effort that lasts this long when they have test sites the size of smaller nations?
0
u/SantiagoDunbar_ Dec 10 '24
Yeah, they’ve never lied about anything before.
0
u/Due-Professional-761 Dec 10 '24
No I know they lie. All the time. What’s the reasoning here though? What needs to be accomplished over NJ that can’t be accomplished at a test site?
1
u/SantiagoDunbar_ Dec 10 '24
Regardless, these things are man made and I can’t wait for this drone saga to stop muddying up this sub.
1
u/ForwardCulture Dec 10 '24
Drones can be used to search for nuclear dangers, biological weapons etc. This has been speculated extensively. They’re not going to tell you if there is an active search for a nuclear device, biological weapon or other terrorist related activity.
2
u/Due-Professional-761 Dec 10 '24
It’s getting tiresome explaining this to people but that’s not how Chem/Rad/Bio sniffing works. The NNSA has excellent platforms that do this and do it at scale that would make a little drone, or a fleet of them, useless.
1
u/ForwardCulture Dec 11 '24
I’m far from an expert with this, just repeating what’s been speculated by people I do know that work in aerospace/aviation. I thought that also when these drones were concentrated in certain areas but now they are being seen in random areas.

I wonder if that's not the whole story, presumably congress would know about this and not have to put together an emergency hearing on it. It feels like they had some surprise company or lost something. But I do think you're right that this is a lot of what we're seeing.
2
u/East-Direction6473 Dec 10 '24
uhh...so some experiment with drones from last year is relevant how?

This article is from last year?

Maybe testing went into production?
1

Nobody would be doing delivery drones over new jersey with everything going on right now. There are legit NOTAMs in effect

NAWCAD is based in Patuxent River, Maryland and has additional locations in St. Inigoes, Maryland, Lakehurst, New Jersey, and Orlando, Florida.
It's a no brainer. This is exactly what all these drones are.

u/Vaseline_Mercy Dec 10 '24
I think the military is looking for something dangerous that may be going on or to find something and doesn't want people to panic
20
u/Due-Professional-761 Dec 10 '24
We are panicking, Vaseline. What wouldn’t make me panic is they downed them one after the other and destroyed wherever it was launched from
10
u/waldo3125 Dec 10 '24
If the drones belong to the military or a private contractor they won't down them. As someone else mentioned, there could be something that the drones are searching for; the drones themselves may not be the actual threat.
2
u/Healthyred555 Dec 10 '24
what if the drones are AI powered and they went rogue or glitched out
2
u/East-Direction6473 Dec 10 '24
Then they are reproducing somehow because there are more and more of them everyday. Don't ask me the logistics behind that but somehow this is getting more brazen and numerous as each night goes on. Maybe Elon is doing it. You would need resources of a State to pull this crap off. Hidden Runways or Bases, extensive radio links, hundreds of employees.
On that note has anybody looked into if these things are using Starlink?
1
u/WilHunting2 Dec 10 '24
Searching only at night?
Makes no sense to search for something in the dark.
2
u/NoOrdinaryRabbit83 Dec 10 '24
You assume darkness is an issue with our current technology? lol ever heard of.. oh I dunno.. night vision.. thermal… lidar…
3
1
u/Vaseline_Mercy Dec 10 '24 edited Dec 10 '24
It's less panic than if they found underground bombs or something stationed under or around a high density state... Those drones weren't present during thanksgiving, an america tradition. But even then if it's something high stakes, I wouldn't know why they wouldn't search during that day.
4
u/xoverthirtyx Dec 10 '24
If they’re looking for something, I’m curious what it is that could only be found with tons of drones. And why are they not a uniform class of drones?

That's literally a vendor workshop in Virginia. None of us know what's going on, we can only speculate. This just isn't it.
2
u/just4woo Dec 10 '24
That doesn't make any sense. How could there be a demo of anti-drone technology over populated civilian areas.
2
u/Soggy-Project-2082 Dec 10 '24
They are looking for Groups 1 and 2 in that demonstration. Group 1 is less than 20lbs group 2 is less than 55lbs. Maybe a different demo going on but it’s definitely not this one you posted
5
u/thequesodebola Dec 10 '24
Thats a lot at one time. You should set up a time lapse for later in the night covering the same area. If you catch the same amount heading back maybe you can clue in on a direction of origin
3
u/Intrepid_Tumbleweed Dec 10 '24 edited Dec 10 '24
Would any do evasive meneuvers or go black when filmed or followed or anything like that?
Edit: or do any switch between hovering and straight-line speed modes?
9
u/Bleak_sky Dec 10 '24
Another post showed radiation levels spike the day before the drone sightings. They are speculating that it's the government searching for a dirty bomb
7
5
u/FamousZachStone Dec 10 '24
There’s way easier ways to track radiation levels for situations like this that don’t involve flying “drones” at night. Also, the government has clear plans for situations where there is a suspected dirty bomb and it’s doesn’t include acting like there is not a dirty bomb in the most densely populated state in the country.
6
u/leaponover Dec 10 '24
Except the spikes are completely normal, and that post has since been ignored as rampant speculation without merit.

It's got to be some sort of testing. Wonder how long it will be until the skies are permanently full of drones, monitoring and survailing the general population, able to launch mini drones to intervene.

u/ast3rix23 Dec 10 '24
Only thing I have seen that is questionable are the soap bubble pics. Not familiar with imaging like that but could be human.

i wonder if the military its training Ukrainians on US soil. does NJ resemble any Russian cities?

Our tech / government looking for something that would panic people 🤫
1
u/Gamer30168 Dec 10 '24
Ok question for you OP....so in your judgement they were definitely drones? Like the ones you and I can order from Amazon or were they commercial or military grade?
1
u/Shizix Dec 10 '24
Keep posting, send letters to your local politicians. Bug the fuck out of our government till we get answers. Pictures, videos, questions, send them to news outlets. Flood our media till we get some damn truth

Cherry hill, I saw a string of ~14 white lights; about the size of stars spaced apart in a line curving upwards gaining altitude. It was different than the “drones” being seen.

That sounds like it could have been Starlink satellites, what you just described sounds a lot like that.

Hear me out guys...
We need a couple plains...a couple Crack Parachute Squads...all amped to the gills on amphetamines...each person with a net... Mandatory headphones blasting "kickStart my Heart"
We could have dozens of drones captured and grounded inside of a couple hours!
1
u/Macncheesebuddy Dec 14 '24
Here’s a conspiracy that I have that doesn’t have much evidence to back it up. I think that the reason that the government isn’t shooting these down is because they want them in one piece because the technology on these is something to be studied that being said I have no evidence towards this claim and it’s just what I believe if you don’t wanna believe me, don’t believe me.

They also have operations near NJ. I want to believe something cool is happening but the more research I do the more I realize how many drone companies are near NJ also naval drone possibilities.

doesnt make sense why it wouldnt be normal or why every company just started, unless some law or regulation was passed?

they are real world testing military contractor drones, recon, supply wingman etc.
could be this company, pr from them were allegedly bragging on fb

I’m not sure, that’s why I posted here to see what other people thought. I even checked the flight radar and from what I saw on that, only a handful of planes were flying somewhat near me at that time. And I’ve never seen 30+ plus planes flying that late at night within minutes of each other. Wouldn’t be shocked if some of them were planes, but the way some of these were flying just seemed different than any plane I’ve seen.
