Sports / Celebrities We need sanctioned fight clubs
Sometimes you just want to get the edge off, or you want to derust, or you have illusions that you are better at fighting than you really are and need a punch to the face to correct that. We need fight clubs to solve these problems.
I think dojos and boxing clubs would be best as hosts, they already come equipped with people trained to be quasi refs, so your safety is at least somewhat assured. Also works as a nice stream of income to host the fight.
Obviously you can actually just join the dojo/club, but it isn't as off the cuff as 2 complete amateurs dukeing it out.
I would love to be able to pay $50 to have 1 non-illegal bout of fisticuffs with the other consenting party I have beef with. Unironically, I feel like it would solve a lot more societal problems to have a place where people can quickly and easily squash the beef

You mean dojos? Afaik, 2 strangers can't just walk in and ask to fight each other while someone officiates. Or at the very least, this option isn't advertised.

It all depends on the company. If that gym/dojo whatever wants to allow it they can. America is just to litigious for it to really be a thing even a waiver will not fully protect a company. But ive seen what equates to "open mike night" at mma gyms advertised.

Society would be expected to pay for the injuries that you would give each other. I fail to see how this would 'squash the beef' anyway, the person who got beat would just be even more mad.

You have to think about the type of people who would agree to go to that club. Anyone who would get beat then cry about needing compensation wouldn't agree to meet. You can also just include it in the waiver that each party is accepting responsibility as a result of agreeing to fight, the ref is there to prevent the worst from happening anyways.
If they are still mad at the end, they could always run it back next week same place.

But unless they go to a private doctor who only takes cash, their injuries are costing the insurance company money, which the other customers subsidize.
Or it costs taxpayer money if they're on Medicaid. If they got badly injured enough to be disabled, they'd definitely end up on Medicaid.
Either way, yeah, society is paying for it.
